It's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This is an ex-forum!
While we're leaving the site up to keep all that happened here, this site is dead. We have moved! We're still going, with a number of changes, at a new location: enerarpg.proboards.com
This is Enera, a Pokémon roleplay where everyone has a dæmon like in the His Dark Materials Series.
After a long period of inactivity, we are back in action! Some major changes are being made right now, so bear with us as we sort out how the site will work, the setting and an all-new plot!
I've been working on a lot of stuff for the site. The new winter skin exists now! I'll be updating it with new images and possibly a different background, too ~Birdy
The Pokédex is slowly being updated. I've started working on profiles for all the NPCs as well, but pictures of them won't go up until my tablet stops having tantrums every time I open Photoshop. Oh, and I can't draw, that might be an issue. I'm working on a format for NPC PCs too, so that'll happen soon.
With the release of X and Y last month, the new Pokémon will be appearing around Enera now. I just need to update all the gym leaders and routes and stuff.
Remember to check out the X and Y giveaway!
Something is stirring in the North. Panserbørne, the great sentient armoured bears, are growing restless. Witches have been affected too by this mystery problem, and have been seen much further south than normal. One or two sightings have even been claimed in the northern most reached of Enera, but that can't be true, right? Witches are tough and hard to spook, so surely nothing would drive them out of their homes in the North?

The nights are drawing in, and the days grow colder, the leaves not quite ready to change colour yet. Cloudy days are common, the wind picking up. It is not cold yet, but rain is becoming more common. Pokémon are starting to prepare for the winter.
Sky walked slowly and carefully down Route 2, but also sorta fast. She had to get to the Town. And fast, if possible. She held an injured Taleo in her arms, and she needed treatment. The Pokemon was dirty and bloodly, and was getting it all over the Trainer, but she didn't mind. Cloud, her daemon, padded at her side as a Tailore. ~How did this happen?~ he barked thoughtfully to the Talore, looking upa t the sky. It was getting dark, and they shoudl get to the town a bit after dusk.
Ooc:// Hold on, was Cloud talking to Taleo? I'm gonna assume he was, even though you said "Talore".
Ic:// Taleo blinked wearily as she rested in Sky's arms. She winced every time her side brushed the trainer, since that both irritated the wounds and got blood on the Staraptor 'morph's front. If the trainer hadn't been walking so carefully, her wounds would have probably reopened by now. Her ears pricked when Cloud barked to her, and she sighed, briefly letting the silence stretch before beginning to answer his question. "Ah...I guess...it's a long story. Um, a fairly long story."
She squinched her eyes for a moment and spat to the side, away from Cloud and Sky; what came out of her mouth had specks of blood in it.
She coughed to clear her throat and continued. "See...I'm a bred Pokemon. From...you know, a pedigree. I'm not wild," she said with a touch of affrontedness in her voice, as if she had been raised to think that wild pokemon were somewhat improper. "My breeder wanted me to be a contest Pokemon for Coordinators...but anyway, we came to Route 1 to train and--"
Her voice was cut off as something picked it's way out of the bushes; a Glameow. Taleo froze for an instant, thinking it was the Tsuasan grunt's daemon, but she relaxed as she realized that it was just a wild Pokemon. As the cat Pokemon started speaking, it was also clear that this was a male rather than a female, too. "Hmm, a sad story? Mind if I join and listen to you?" He looked at the Taleo in Sky's arms, and fidgeted a little, clearly repulsed by the wounds and shocked, but wanting to appear cool and collected on the outside. "Why don't we walk and talk, so you can get her to that healing-place you Trainers use?"
IC: Cloud looked up at the Taleo in his human's arms. ~A pedigree, eh?~ he asked, not wild... With the scars that'll come from those wounds, the Coordinatior probably won't want to comete with her. He looked up to bhear a new voice, a Glameow. "Do you mind if he listens?" Sky asked Taleo, not wanting to answer for her, "I don't mind if we 'walk and talk', if that's how you want to put it." She smiled, and clearly attempted not to laugh, as it would've disturbed the Pokemon in her arms, probably reopening her wounds.
Taleo blinked wearily at the Glameow. ”Ha…like I could do anything if I didn’t want him to listen.”
She sighed. ”Okay. Fine. Anyway, I…am…or maybe, I was the Pokemon of a Breeder. Yeah, I was gonna be a Coordinator’s Pokemon when I grew up…but we were training on Route 1, and I was practicing my…my special move.” There. She had said it. She ground her teeth for a moment, curling her lips back the smallest amount and bracing herself for Sky’s gleeful reaction. Averting her gaze and focusing on Cloud instead, she continued, ”I think it’s called…Thunder Fang? I guess Taleo don’t normally know it, but I was born with it. It…was supposed to be for the contest.”
She paused for a moment to catch her breath. The Glameow was taking this all in, padding fairly comfortably beside Sky for a wild Pokemon, looking up at the Taleo. He voiced the very opinion that Sky had been thinking about earlier. ”Yeah, that’s great and all, but even with a move like Thunder Fang, don’t people like pretty Pokemon in Contests? At least, that’s what I thought? I guess you got a pretty face, but with all those scars you don’t stand a chance,” he said bluntly. ”Well, go on then.”
Taleo narrowed her eyes at the cat Pokemon. ”I…know that very well. I don’t need you…telling me that. Anyway, that man that Sky battled, he saw me using that move. And then he…wanted me, for his Team Tsu-Wasa, or whatever. I couldn’t hear to clearly. But he threw something at my trainer, and he had a friend who had a Beedrill and another Pokemon, I can’t remember—and, and then…my trainer went away. And you guys…well, after…” She flicked her tail weakly to indicate her wounds. ”Obviously, I fought back. I even got a good bite with my Thunder…Fang attack on one guy’s dæmon. Those daemons weren’t like Cloud. They…” She shook her head. ”I managed to escape in the storm, so they split up to look for me…and then Cloud found me. I guess that other guy is still out there.” She sighed and yawned weakly, clearly tired from all the talking. [/blockquote]
"Special move?" Sky wondered out loud, "And Thunder Fang, huh? I don't think Taleo's are born with that... I wonder how you got it." She listened to the Glameow's words, thinking they were sort of rude, but nore curious than anything. ~What sort of person was your Trainer?~ Cloud asked when she was finished, ~Was he, or she, the sort of person who liked and wanted you only for your move and looks, or do you think he or she'll want you back even now?~ His human nodded. "If your Trainer would still want you back," she began, "We could look for him or her, and return you, if you want to go back, too." She then turned her attention to the Glameow. "And arn't you comfortable there?" she smiled, slightly teasingly, "Padding next to a Trainer, and one you've never met before, as a wild Pokemon." She didn't really care if he was wild or not, but it was sort of odd that he seemed so used to this, even with someone, a Trainer, at that, that he didn't know.
Taleo considered. "I think my Trainer, no, Breeder told me once my move came from my daddy...I don't think he was a Taleore like my mom. I never saw him, but my mom told me once he was...ah...what Pokemon? Umm....oh! Lux--Lux something."
She fell briefly silent before replying to Cloud's inquiry. "Ummm...I...I think he was going to train me for Contests and then trade me for someone else, I dunno who...so, I guess he would be angry at my scars. But I don't really want to worry him either," she said, determined and settled now fairly comfortably into Sky's arms.
Glameow smiled somewhat deviously as Sky chided him. "You might ask that," he said a bit loftily, "but in truth, I could tell that hurt Taleo you've got was a bit special. And I'm pretty sure that other Trainer she said attacked her is lurking around this Route somewhere; I saw him kicking through the ferns with his Beedril. And she smells a bit like him too--or her blood, at least, so I thought following you guys would give me the best answers." He leaned a little closer to Sky, and then said in something of a whisper. "In all honesty, I think he'll find you. You might have to battle. I think you might lose. He's strong...but..." He broke off quite mysteriously, giving Sky and Taleo a crooked smile. "Let's just say, I'm looking to be inspired?" [/blockquote]
"If you want to look for him, we can," Sky replied, thinking it wasn't right to train a Pokemon only to trade it and get a better one, then turning to the Glameow, and nodding at his thoughts, "I see... Well, what do you need to be inspired for then?" She smiled, wondering if wild pokemon, or Pokemon in general drew pictures or wrote, or at least thought of, stories or something. "Was your father perhaps a Luxio, or Luxray?" the Staraptor Pokemorph asked, thinking of Taleo again, "I didn't know Pokemon of different species could mate..."
"Hmm, we'll have to just wait and see," was the Glameow's reply, which make him sound awfully cryptic and a little wishy-washy. "I don't really think we'll need to look for him, though--he's loud, smelly, and crashes around through the Route with his buzzing Beedril. You'll hear him far before he comes. Also, he's probably going to be looking for you, because if he wanted Taleo here, and you have Taleo...well, it en't so hard to put two and two together, yeah?" This was sure one odd Glameow. He broke off his speech to let Taleo answer faintly, "Oh, yeah! I think he was a Luxray, that's it, that's what my mom said. And I never really thought about it, but yeah, I guess different species can be mates. Although a Gyarados and a Skitty would be kind of weird...um...I don't think that's possible..."
she trailed off, for the first time giggling a little bit.
Glameow was content walking with the others; hearing from them what happened, even in bits and snippets and different sides, he definitely wanted them to succeed in their ventures. And so, when his sensitive ears picked up rustling bushes, he muttered, "Quiet! Something's coming our way!" He stopped in his tracks, hackles instinctively rising and ears flicking aggressively upward.
While Glameow had the right idea, the rustling which got closer and closer in the bushes didn't have the characteristic buzz-buzz-buzz of a Beedril. It was, in fact, simply a confused-looking little Sunkern. She bopped along on the path, finally spotting Sky, Cloud, and the others, exclaiming in a high voice, ~Eh?! A Trainer? And Glameow, what are you doing?~ Evidently she recognized the wild Glameow next to Sky; perhaps they had met on the Route before. ~Well, you think you're gonna get past me on this Route without asking me, huh, Trainer? Fight me!~ she exclaimed in a rather shrill voice, hopping up and down indignantly. Glameow flicked his ears with annoyance, sighing to the side.
IC: ~Hmph,~ Cloud grunted halfheartedly in response to the Glameow. Sky, however nodded, and laughed at the end of Taleo's words. "I think it only works witht he same builds, like four legs and fur, but not fishy scales and feathers," she replied, pausing as she listened to the leaves rustle and a Sunkern pop out. Like a daisy! she added mentally. It seemed Glameow knew the Sunkern. When she asked to battle, Sky agreed silently by pulling out Atra's Pokeball, noticing the Glameow sigh, he probably didn't like Sunkern much.
Sky would be correct in her reasoning. Glameow muttered moments afterward to her, ”Let me tell you something; this is one very uppity Sunkern. Though I suppose you’ve seen that yourself. Mega Drain is quite possibly her favorite move, ever...she insists on battling everyone who crosses her path. I’ve had to bop her a few times myself. It really left me tired.” He flicked his ears as he saw Atra appear from the Pokeball. ”Though I suppose a Houndour will do just fine, Mega Drain or not.” He sat down and swiped his paw over his ear—the Sunkern was annoying, but the show would be fun to watch. Taleo sat up a little in Sky’s arms, watching wearily but sinking back into sleep. Hopefully Sky would get through this battle fast, since she really was feeling kinda tired.
Sunkern hopped up and down some more. ~Hmph! A ‘oundour, that’s what you got? Mega Drain!~
Just as Glameow had predicted, although it was a tad odd that the wild Pokemon was yelling out the attacks she was using. Without waiting for Atra to go first she danced forward, the sprout atop her head energetically twisting from side to side as misty, green ‘feelers’ snaked towards Atra in a pulsing motion, attempting to suck health from the Dark-type dog. [/blockquote]
"Thanks," Sky replied quietly, smiling, to Glameow. He obviously didn't enjoy Sunkern's company, but she had to show that Sunkern some manners. "Ember!" the 'morph called, and the Houndour obayed, breathing fire towards the Sunkern and her vine's that were using Mega Drain. She did, however, wonder why the Sunkern used that attack, when she didn't even have any damage on her.
Because the 'feelers' were mostly insubstantial, they were able to partially get through the Ember, although the attack was obliterated before it could get to Atra. Thankfully for Sunkern, the previous Mega Drain had also blocked the brunt of the Ember attack. She grimaced a little as she was burned a bit, but she shook it off quickly, bouncing up and down and slowly making her way towards Houndour. ~Ooooh, now you askin' for it! Mega Drain! Mega Drain!~ the Sunkern cried out. Hopping eagerly to the side again she fired off another Mega Drain at the Houndour, hoping it would hit and cure that pesky damage she had sustained on the last turn. As this all happened the wild Glameow beside Sky yawned widely, padding twice around a circle of soft-looking grass before settling comfortably on it, crossing one front paw over the other as he prepared to watch the show.
"Doge and Ember, Atra," Sky called to the Houndour, "And Thunderfang." The dark fire Pokemon nodded and ran out of the way of the Mega Drain, but was still hit a bit with of the attack. She then blew fire towards the Sunkern, and held it for a moment before running through her attack in an attempt to surprise the Sunkern with her Thunder Fang.
~You seem to be enjoying this,~ Cloud said in his form of Mightyena, one of his faveroites, to the Glameow, before turning to Taleo, ~How're you doing?~
The Sunkern’s sprout twirled happily as the Mega Drain restored a bit of her health—not as much as she would have appreciated, since Atra had dodged most of the attack, but it would do for now. The super-effective Ember attack was more worrying, and the bouncing seed Pokemon was nowhere fast enough to avoid it. She got a face full of fire and cried out some obscenity as she stumbled backward, the attack taking a good chunk of HP from her. Popping up angrily she prepared another Mega Drain, and was only able to fire it off just as Atra neared her and clamped down on her tender yellow body with electric-charged fangs. The two attacks hurt a lot, but the Mega Drain had been close-range enough that Atra would be hit by it. Or so the Sunkern hoped.
Glameow responded to Cloud’s comment with amusement. ~Of course I am,~ he replied. ~Watching trainers fight is more interesting than making a spectacle of a squabble between two wild Pokemon—all the do is bite and scratch at each other. Plus, this Sunkern has been on many a Route 2 Pokemon’s bad list. She’s always challenging anyone she passes by.~ he waved his tail vaguely as Cloud went on to inspect the Taleo, who didn’t answer his question because she had fallen into slumber. Her breathing was fairly regular, even though it was weak, so it was clear she would at least last another 7 or 8 hours without care. It seemed that the comfort from knowing there were allies around was doing only good for her health, and the Potion Sky had used earlier hadn’t been a bad thing either.
Atre backed of as she got the most of the Mega Drain, but used another Ember as well. Once far enough away enough for her stander's, she used Leer, hoping to lowwer the Sunkern's defence.
~What would you saw if we caught her?~ Cloud asked Glameow after noticeing the sleeping Taleo, ~It would help with the mini fights, but then she would want to fight everyone we saw.~ Perhaps trading her would be sufficient, he added silently, To someone who wanted to collect the Gym Badges. Sky wanted to become a Breeder.

Guest_Kaelyn: and how long will the X/Y promo be for? I would love to get one... as soon as I remember my password....
Jan 27, 2014 13:24:40 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Darn.. I'm going to have to remember my password....... But I'm still here... If that matters. ^^()
Jan 27, 2014 13:22:56 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Orr.... just a new skin and stuff? It looks great, though, guys.
Jan 27, 2014 13:18:28 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Ok... I googled Enera cause I was on my work computer and came up with this. 0.o Did the site move, Birdy? Also, I am so sorry for the long absence. I hope you'll forgive me? What's been happening?
Jan 27, 2014 13:17:44 GMT -5
Rin: Alright, I will then It'll probably take me a couple days.
Dec 29, 2013 22:30:39 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah, go ahead ^_^
Dec 29, 2013 5:25:01 GMT -5
Rin: Cool beans, I made an account there. Should I just transfer all my PC stuff and character data / route stuff over?
Dec 28, 2013 22:35:53 GMT -5
Birdybot: All right! I've worked on a few templates and planned everything out, so now I've created the new forum! enerarpg.proboards.com/
Dec 23, 2013 7:51:22 GMT -5
Rin: I do like the visiting towns idea - that way players could get to plot more easily and characters could meet up, which would be cool to see more of
Dec 23, 2013 3:02:40 GMT -5
Birdybot: I think to make it easier for characters to meet, any town can be visited at any time (by train etc), but the gyms will still have to be done in order. Also I was thinking of letting people buy apartments/houses in any town if they want
Dec 17, 2013 18:27:24 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah, characters would be transferred over. It's a big change, but I think big changes are needed to revive this site and moving is the cleanest way to do that
Dec 17, 2013 18:24:19 GMT -5
Rin: Whoa, that's a pretty big change Would we be allowed to carry over characters? I'd like to keep Ajax at his current progress if possible...I do agree about the fakedex thing though, that's pretty outdated at this point, and people can always resubmit.
Dec 17, 2013 17:34:15 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah anyway so over this weekend I'll get a new site set up with new everything and it'll maybe look OK but no promises
Dec 13, 2013 14:28:26 GMT -5
