route one!
"the gentle path of new adventures"

general----------
Route One is a fairly easy going route, since it is after all the first one. It has a clear path worn by many new trainers, co-ordinators, breeders and the like, making it an easy place to cross. The grass is long and unkempt, with trees dotted about thinly and a number of bushes, weeds and wild flowers. The place does have some natural beauty to it, and it can be quite nice for the new trainer to be met with and easy path, pretty flowers, shady trees and the occasional happy wild Pokémon. There are many good spots to set up camp- in fact, pretty much anywhere is a good place. Straying off the path a little almost always ends in excellent potential camping spots, meaning it's not too hard for new trainers to find decent spaces to set up camp.
A new trainer might still want to be careful, however. This route was made the first one purely because it was an easy one to navigate so it eased in new trainers to the world of training gently rather than plunging them in head-first, but there is still dangers. Stray too far off the path, and it can be hard to find again. The fact that there aren't any special landmarks or anything on the route doesn't help with this, and it all looks pretty similar. If you do intend to walk off the path, it's best to take a compass reading of the direction of route two first so if you can't find the path again you'll at least be able to reach the next route. It's also likely that you'll meet up with other new trainers here, especially if you stick to the path.
climate----------
The climate of the first route isn't anything special. It's a fairly mild climate; not hot like a desert, but not cold like a mountaintop, either. The winters are chilly with occasional snow, but usually just frosts, while the summers are nice, warm, and sunny. There is a table below which might be interesting if you want to know the sort of weather and temperatures you'll be experiencing at different times of year.Season

things of interest----------
There isn't anything of interest on Route One, to be honest. Just a lot of plants and some Pokémon. The only interesting thing that is actually out of the ordinary would be the sheer amount of people travelling along it. Of course, Pine's Lab doesn't churn out a huge amount of trainers, but they do come from other places to travel the route, as well as it being a popular place for the first missions of ranger and grunts. However, this isn't really noticable unless you've seen the amount of people on the other, more empty, routes, and are flying overhead.
history----------
If the worn down paths are anything to go by, Route One has a long history. Thousands of years ago, it was a forest, until humans started making civilizations. While they settled down in their mud huts, which later became wooden and whatnot, they figured they needed to have some sort of route here to reach the hills beyond. A mixuture of attempting to create a way of travel and need for timber sent the former forest tumbling to the ground, leaving a bare patch of land where people would walk between- this was when only the very rich could afford horses. Later on, people became smarter, and in the 1100's they began to use a set path along this to reach the small settlement that would become Priono, the town where Pine's Laboratory is now situated. This settlement was important since it had a huge farm.
As time went by, the route began to become wilder again. Pokémon moved back in, and people started to use it less. They took other roads, covering them in proper surfaces to make them smoother and clearer. The route was used only by walking travellers. Many years later, only a hundred or so years ago, the Pine family started up a Pokémon research centre in Priono. It was to be decided on a proper route for trainers to go from town to town in- after all, every region needs to have the path for trainers planned out so the gym leader's gym Pokémon can be of the appropriate level and things run more smoothly. It was decided after much debate that the path should become the first route for the fact that it is easy to cross, and so it became christened Route One. The Pine family started giving out starter Pokémon, although of course back then the options were far more limited.
Now, things haven't changed much. The path is more worn and the roads trainers don't use are now used by cars rather than horses and carts and are tarmac, and the starters given out are much more varied, but all in all things are the same. All great trainers of Enera have walked down Route One, obviously.
pokémon----------
And now onto what might be the most important thing of Route One to trainers- the Pokémon. The Pokémon of the route are generally low levelled, but it is known that trainers with higher levelled Pokémon will attract higher levelled Pokémon, especially if they stray off the path. The Pokémon on the route are all fairly common ones, such as Rattata, Poochyena, Pidgey, Spearow, and Bidoof. It's highly unlikely that you'll meet a Rare or Ultra Rare- or even a Very Uncommon- Pokémon, but that doesn't mean you can't catch things or anything. It might be harder to find rarer Pokémon on Route One, since most of them prefer to move on to stronger trainers on Route Two at least, but there's still the normal chance of a shiny.
The Pokémon here are generally fairly timid, quite happy to be going about their daily lives. It isn't rare to find a young Pokémon, either, come here to try and get as strong as possible. These sorts of Pokémon will be itching to fight, so you had better be prepared- some even ambush trainers! There are thieves, fighters and Pokémon that are nervous around humans, so you should be careful when you see movement- you can never tell what you're in for.
A wide variety of Pokémon live on Route One, but there are of course certain types that are and aren't found here. Dragon, Ice, Steel, Rock and Ground Pokémon are very rarely found, while Grass, Normal, Bug and Flying are almost always seen by every trainer who passes through.
