It's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This is an ex-forum!
While we're leaving the site up to keep all that happened here, this site is dead. We have moved! We're still going, with a number of changes, at a new location: enerarpg.proboards.com
This is Enera, a Pokémon roleplay where everyone has a dæmon like in the His Dark Materials Series.
After a long period of inactivity, we are back in action! Some major changes are being made right now, so bear with us as we sort out how the site will work, the setting and an all-new plot!
I've been working on a lot of stuff for the site. The new winter skin exists now! I'll be updating it with new images and possibly a different background, too ~Birdy
The Pokédex is slowly being updated. I've started working on profiles for all the NPCs as well, but pictures of them won't go up until my tablet stops having tantrums every time I open Photoshop. Oh, and I can't draw, that might be an issue. I'm working on a format for NPC PCs too, so that'll happen soon.
With the release of X and Y last month, the new Pokémon will be appearing around Enera now. I just need to update all the gym leaders and routes and stuff.
Remember to check out the X and Y giveaway!
Something is stirring in the North. Panserbørne, the great sentient armoured bears, are growing restless. Witches have been affected too by this mystery problem, and have been seen much further south than normal. One or two sightings have even been claimed in the northern most reached of Enera, but that can't be true, right? Witches are tough and hard to spook, so surely nothing would drive them out of their homes in the North?

The nights are drawing in, and the days grow colder, the leaves not quite ready to change colour yet. Cloudy days are common, the wind picking up. It is not cold yet, but rain is becoming more common. Pokémon are starting to prepare for the winter.
Kitty arrived at the lab, panting a little. Tryce trailed behind her, looking at all of the buildings with a slightly open mouth. His Eevee tail trailed behind him, waving to the left and then to the right again. He turned to Kitty, and she turned over to him. He tilted his head as if to say, Um, now you knock?
With a sigh that was partly nerves and partly tiredness, Kitty turned to the door and opened it very slowly, taking a step or two inside.
"Hello?" she called, hoping that she wasn't overstepping any boundaries. "I'm... I'm here to..." But she chickened out on the last couple of words and reddened instead. With a small canine-like laugh, Tryce hopped inside the building too and started to explore.
Professor Pine had been working on sorting out some of the field data that had been sent back to him from various Trainers’ Pokedexes. It was a fairly arduous task, but Pine was one of those rare people who quite enjoyed absolutely anything Pokémon, even if it was rather monotonous. His dæmon, Telepa, sat beside, him, helping him with the sorting and occasionally extending a wing to point him to information he hadn’t spotted, occasionally nestling into her neck feathers and dozing a bit when he started to feel tired. The Professor was feeling a bit stiff and was just about to go out for a stroll in the fields behind the lab when he heard a tentative voice call out near the front of the lab, followed by a laugh-bark of sorts.
It must be a new Trainer, the Professor thought to himself, rising from his chair and quickly striding through the lab to the front to greet the trainer, Telepa swooping close him. He arrived in the lobby area to find a fairly pale (although still within human standards) girl, looking seemingly shyly around her, as well as her Eevee dæmon sniffing at some piece of apparatus that was near the front of the lab. Pine nodded reassuringly to the girl with a friendly smile and wave to show he wasn’t angry or annoyed in the least, while Telepa perched on a pile of books and gave a hoot of welcome to the to-be trainer and her dæmon. ”Welcome to Pine Labs,” the Professor said. ”I’m Professor Pine; I take it you’re here for your starter Pokemon? Are there any species or types of Pokemon in general you have in mind?”
"Oh," she said, happy to be in the right place and to not be disturbing any of the professor's work. She tried to motion to Tryce to get away from the expensive-looking equipment but he ignored her, flashing that awful fangy grin in her general direction as his tail bobbed further away.
"I didn't...I didn't really think about my starter," she admitted, reddening ever so slightly. "What do you have in the way of Fire pokemon?" Her eyes flashed at that - fire had always been a type of particular interest to her, ever since she was little and had seen a Charizard on TV single-handedly defeat the Champion of Kanto.
”Fire types, fire types,” Pine muttered to himself, quickly striding over to the wall and pulling out a book about Fire-type Pokemon, documenting each type with pictures as well as details on their evolutions. He offered the book to Kitty. ”You might want to look through this book and see what sort of fire types you prefer? I’m afraid the lab currently doesn’t have some of the rarer ones in stock at the moment, but we still do have a reasonable selection of Fire starters.” He rubbed his chin as he considered the starters he might pull out for the young trainer—he had a couple in mind he thought might get along well with her. Meanwhile, Telepa’s head swiveled in the strange way that owls tend to do, silently watching Tryce with attentive but not unkind eyes.
Kitty studied the book for a while, but then handed it back the professor with a small smile, saying something that she never really thought she'd say. At that moment, however, it seemed like a fantastic idea.
"Why don't you choose for me?" she said simply. "I'm sure I'll love anything you pick out, and you are the expert, after all." With a slight wink, she laughed and turned back to Tryce, who had returned and was looking up at her quizzically. Even her own daemon had no idea what she was thinking.
Ooc:// I’m really sorry I let this thread hang for so long—I went to a convention this weekend, so I was super busy.
Ic:// Pine shrugged and smiled. ”If that’s what you want,” he said, surprised that she didn’t want to specify what Pokemon she wanted any further. After all, most trainers were quite specific about what they wanted, after they were given some time to choose. He motioned to Telepa, and together they stepped into the back-area of the lab, which was blocked from the sight of those in the lobby by various cupboards and bookcases. There were a few rustling noises, a bit of opening and closing, some scraping as if someone was taking Pokeballs from a drawer (which, Pine was), and then relative silence as the Professor and his dæmon emerged from the back area. ”Get ready,” he warned Kitty, ”They don’t get to be out of their Pokeballs much, so they’ll probably be quite excited. You may find yourself dodging more than a couple embers.” With that, he and the Noctowl dæmon released the Pokemon, a few meters away from Kitty so she could decide whether to approach them or not.
Out tumbled various Pokemon—a Vulpix, a Growlithe, a strangely blue-haired Ponyta, a Magby, and two Houndours, one with a deep black coat and the other with a faintly glittery blue pelt. The last Pokemon out of its ball, a Numel, had a tan coat that also shone strangely. It immediately made its way towards Kitty, but stopped directly in between her and where it had landed, right in a patch of sunlight. As soon as the Numel reached the sunlight it relaxed, hunkering down as if it would like a nice sleep. The two Houndours seemed fairly active, barking at each other and chasing each other around in circles while belting small balls of fire at each other (some of which came uncomfortably near Kitty; more than once Telepa raised her wide wings and sent a whoosh of air to extinguish the flame). They noticed Tryce and quickly approached him together, the normal-colored one seeming to be a bit more dominant and the shiny blue one somewhat shyer.
Meanwhile, the Growlithe looked up at Pine and Telepa, barking a polite greeting to them before barking a greeting to Kitty and Tryce. It seemed as if this Pokemon were a bit stiff, but the playful Ponyta swished its bright blue tail under the little dog’s nose and it quivered, clearly itching to chase after it but wanting to appear as best it could to the Trainer in front of him. The Ponyta, quickly giving up on the Growlithe, cantered across the lobby and swished its brilliant mane confidently (and a bit vainly) in front of Kitty, rearing briefly to show of its supple and muscular legs. The Magby seemed quite shy, but very cute. It looked a little fearfully at Kitty but visibly steeled itself and walked towards her, quivering slightly. It seemed that if the Magby could be encouraged to be more courageous or if it gained more self-confidence, it could be a fairly strong fighter. Finally, the Vulpix watched the proceedings from the opposite side of the room, clearly a loner and perhaps even scorning the other Pokemon due to their antics.
Kitty looked back and forth at all of the pokemon, and bit her lip, turning back to the professor.
"Wow, this is a really difficult decision," she said, looking at them all carefully in turn. The Ponyta really was beautiful - she could understand why it was showing off. The two Houndour, as well, seemed adorable and both equally as attractive with their coats.
After considering for a while, she narrowed her choice down to the three of them, and then knelt down to hold out her hand. The darker Houndour sniffed it while the blue one seemed to shy away. She smiled and stroked it on the head, and then looked back up at the professor.
"The blue one is pretty, and they're all rare, I know, but I'm just drawn to this one." She motioned to the black Houndour and they looked at each other for a while.
Ooc:// This isn’t too big an issue in this particular post because nothing much happened, but you cannot control any of the Pokemon (like having them sniff Kitty or shy away from her) until she has actually caught them or a mod/admin ‘gives’ it to you (it’ll be pretty obvious when we do, because we’ll post the stats and soforth).
The Professor nodded, quickly returning the rest of the Pokemon to their Pokeballs. The shiny blue Houndour nudged the black one in a gesture of friendly farewell before it was enveloped by the red light and vanished into its Pokeball. The black-colored Houndour seemed a bit sad to leave its friend, but wriggled its body happily when Kitty patted it on the head and gave a little woof. Professor Pine was somewhat impressed that she had chosen the normal-colored one over the shiny—some trainers only chose with their eyes, although some did choose the shinies as a challenge. The Houndour woofed again, stubby tail wagging as it glanced at Kitty and then began to jump playfully at her feet.
”Ah, he’s an excitable one,” the Professor noted with amusement, giving Kitty the Houndour’s Pokeball. ”I’ll get you your starter items and then you’ll be on your way.” He and his Noctowl dæmon bustled around the lab, getting everything together into a traveler’s sack, which he handed to Kitty. ~Have a safe journey,~ Telepa bid Kitty and Tryce farewell, giving them something of a wave with one of her long wings.
Kitty received her starter and items! You may now continue to Route 1.

Guest_Kaelyn: Alrighty. I hope you haven't forgotten me, Birdy. ^^() Ok. I'll keep that new url in mind. And I understand. The link you have there doesn't connect to anything. Perhaps you could send it to me via pm or something so that I can get it---

Jan 27, 2014 13:24:40 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Darn.. I'm going to have to remember my password....... But I'm still here... If that matters. ^^()
Jan 27, 2014 13:22:56 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Orr.... just a new skin and stuff? It looks great, though, guys.
Jan 27, 2014 13:18:28 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Ok... I googled Enera cause I was on my work computer and came up with this. 0.o Did the site move, Birdy? Also, I am so sorry for the long absence. I hope you'll forgive me? What's been happening?
Jan 27, 2014 13:17:44 GMT -5
Rin: Alright, I will then It'll probably take me a couple days.
Dec 29, 2013 22:30:39 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah, go ahead ^_^
Dec 29, 2013 5:25:01 GMT -5
Rin: Cool beans, I made an account there. Should I just transfer all my PC stuff and character data / route stuff over?
Dec 28, 2013 22:35:53 GMT -5
Birdybot: All right! I've worked on a few templates and planned everything out, so now I've created the new forum! enerarpg.proboards.com/
Dec 23, 2013 7:51:22 GMT -5
Rin: I do like the visiting towns idea - that way players could get to plot more easily and characters could meet up, which would be cool to see more of
Dec 23, 2013 3:02:40 GMT -5
Birdybot: I think to make it easier for characters to meet, any town can be visited at any time (by train etc), but the gyms will still have to be done in order. Also I was thinking of letting people buy apartments/houses in any town if they want
Dec 17, 2013 18:27:24 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah, characters would be transferred over. It's a big change, but I think big changes are needed to revive this site and moving is the cleanest way to do that
Dec 17, 2013 18:24:19 GMT -5
Rin: Whoa, that's a pretty big change Would we be allowed to carry over characters? I'd like to keep Ajax at his current progress if possible...I do agree about the fakedex thing though, that's pretty outdated at this point, and people can always resubmit.
Dec 17, 2013 17:34:15 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah anyway so over this weekend I'll get a new site set up with new everything and it'll maybe look OK but no promises
