It seemed that this turn would be more eventful and interesting for Wingull as she saw her opponent finally manage to take action, acting on instincts rather than trainer's request but at least this was something for the Poochyena so badly affected by the confusion. Still, without the advantage of a trainer to plan and form strategies while Friduwulf could act and develop this, the Poison Fang wasn't perticularly well planned. Wingull could see it coming, although she let her guard down a little when the shiny froze at feeling the effects of the Growl, assuming that like in previous turns he would fail to attack again.
When Friduwulf sprang back into action, however, Wingull was taken by surprise, making a last minute dive to the left in hope of dodging. The dog's spontanious attack did manage to hit, making the bird drop a couple of inches in height before flapping her wings once or twice to regain her previous height. She cursed herself under her breath, annoyed that she didn't think to be constantly aware that something like this could happen. She had been fooled into a false sense of security by this. It was so stupid of her to think that Friduwulf wouldn't be able to attack despite his confusion! She made a mental note to watch him more closely from now on, as with every other opponent she faced in future that was behaving in a similar way.
Wincing as a twinge of pain flashed across her body briefly, the poison status condition not one to go away until she could rest or consume some sort of healing item. At the present moment, neither of these options were possible, so she let it pass with a shiver and tried to continue with the battle, aware that she needed to take more action on her opponent, however bad she felt for attacking a confused and seemingly helpless foe, else the poison could make her lose the battle or at least contribute to that. The Water and Flying type felt it would be easier to attack him now that he had proved he wasn't a helpless sitting duck in this fight but could still hurt her, not to mention the problem that he could well snap out of confusion in at any moment.
Wingull aimed her head down to face Friduwulf, preparing a Water Gun attack as this was her only damaging move. She then had the idea of going some sort of dive-powered attack, and so swung her body up so she was pointing downwards in a horizontal line of gull Pokémon. She let herself fall, planning to let the Water Gun strike at the last possible moment, the force of which pushing her upwards as she rose again. Until she sprayed the jet of water, it would be difficult to know exactly what she was aiming to do, although her intentions would be clear anyway.
