It's run down the curtain and joined the choir invisible! This is an ex-forum!
While we're leaving the site up to keep all that happened here, this site is dead. We have moved! We're still going, with a number of changes, at a new location: enerarpg.proboards.com
This is Enera, a Pokémon roleplay where everyone has a dæmon like in the His Dark Materials Series.
After a long period of inactivity, we are back in action! Some major changes are being made right now, so bear with us as we sort out how the site will work, the setting and an all-new plot!
I've been working on a lot of stuff for the site. The new winter skin exists now! I'll be updating it with new images and possibly a different background, too ~Birdy
The Pokédex is slowly being updated. I've started working on profiles for all the NPCs as well, but pictures of them won't go up until my tablet stops having tantrums every time I open Photoshop. Oh, and I can't draw, that might be an issue. I'm working on a format for NPC PCs too, so that'll happen soon.
With the release of X and Y last month, the new Pokémon will be appearing around Enera now. I just need to update all the gym leaders and routes and stuff.
Remember to check out the X and Y giveaway!
Something is stirring in the North. Panserbørne, the great sentient armoured bears, are growing restless. Witches have been affected too by this mystery problem, and have been seen much further south than normal. One or two sightings have even been claimed in the northern most reached of Enera, but that can't be true, right? Witches are tough and hard to spook, so surely nothing would drive them out of their homes in the North?

The nights are drawing in, and the days grow colder, the leaves not quite ready to change colour yet. Cloudy days are common, the wind picking up. It is not cold yet, but rain is becoming more common. Pokémon are starting to prepare for the winter.
Terra walked allong Route 1 with a big intense look about her. She kept glancing at her Annorith - which has settled over her left arm, looking out into the forest. Her right arm dragged along a large purple roller suitcase. She was wearing long denim jeans, a big button up shirt that seemed two sizes too big for her, a pair of well worn & scuffed boots, all topped off by a big messy of golden wavy hair. Terra's green eyes were bright and intense as she wandered along the road.
Terra was talking - mostly to herself, but loudly enough to be overheard. "I've never gotten to name a pokemon before. I've never really had to name anything before. Except my diary. And I just called that my dairy. I don't really know what makes a good name. But Professor Pine said I should pick something that feels just right. Would you like Anney? If you were a boy I'd call you Johnathan. Because your very cute just like him." This conversation had been going on for quite some time - taking up enough of Terra's thoughts that she wasn't really watching where she was going.
She'd soon be wandering off route 1 & into the wilderness nearby. Though the stains & patches on her clothing suggested that perhaps she'd quite often gone off the beaten path?
Abra were known for sleeping most of the day. Fortunately Abra also generally didn't need to eat much, given they spent most of their time in a resting state. This young abra was no exception. However, right now was part of it's awake time, and there was a curious noise coming from nearby. The abra had settled itself for it's most recent nap fairly well off the beaten track of the route, thinking to avoid getting into any battles which mgith delay the deeper state of sleep it had wanted to reach.
~Oh my~ The abra said as it peered through the bushes and spotted a very young looking girl with an anorith and an egg. ~Are you two alright?~ The voice was light and feminine, the abra projecting it's words to the human as well as what she assumed was an anorith shaped daemon. her mama had raised her right and it was rude to exclude someone from your speak if you were able to speak to them. Not to mention it cut down on translation errors.
~You've gotten quite far away from the track my dears. Do you have anyone with you besides your egg to keep you safe? Or are you headed for the lab to get someone?~
~Are you two alright?~ The words broke into Terra's thoughts and pulled her right up. Annorith chirped back whilst Terra looked about - seeming just a little lost. Though she was hardly afraid.
After the Abra finished speaking, Terra offered a big smile "Oh no, my Adara's protected me once too many already. It's my job to look after Adara until she hatches you see. Professor Pine said it's most important. Oh but I'm Terra. And this is Annorith. I haven't thought up a name for her yet. Are you a psychic pokemon? Professor Pine has a psychic pokemon who talked without talking too." Terra's eyes were big and curious as she showed Annorith and herself to the Abra. She patted Adara's case, indicating the egg as well.
Meanwhile Annorith was chirping away from her left shoulder, enjoying every minute of her new found freedom and friendship. ~I'm an Anorith! This is my trainer Terra. She's really nice. Are we lost? I've never been out here before. We're very friendly. Are we in danger? Are you going to battle us? I've never had a battle before. Are they fun?~
The Abra smiled as Terra chattered at her. ~Yes, I am a psychic type.~ She told the young trainer ~An abra to be precise. I didn't know other psychic types could talk to humans too.~
~Do you know where the route is?~ She said to anorith ~If you don't, then that is rather the definition of lost. I suppose, if you want a battle, we can have one. I'm not much of a battler though.~
There was a frown on her face as she looked at the egg the girl carried. ~So, if Anorith isn't your daemon, then, where are they? Is, that egg, is that your daemon? Is that normal for daemons? I haven't met many humans, but the ones I've seen always had pokemon for daemons, never an egg.~
Annorith crawled down from Terra's arm and moved over to investigate the Abra. She kept talking as she did so though. "Oh! The route is behind us! But theres so much to explore outside! It's very fun being lost. Did you know Pidgeys are talkative? If we battle I can show you my scratch attack!"
Terra waited for Annorith to finsh before she chimed in with her own thoughts. "I'm sure we'll find the route again. It's not going anywhere- is it? I haven't really practiced battling with Annorith yet. I haven't got any other pokemon to practice with actually. If you like we can battle. I've got some berry pie we can share too if you like. Mamma always said you should share a nice meal with a stranger. And Mamma bakes the best berry pie this side of Goldenrod."
Terra settled down and began upacking one of her bags. Adara's beautiful egg was placed at her side, before a big dish with a pie hidden under a tea towel. There was a beautiful aroma that followed the dish - berries, butter & pastry edged with something citrus. Terra offered a plate & cutlery to the Abra with a big smile.
"Adara is my daemon & she is an egg. She got into a fight with a pokemon & got really hurt. Hurt so bad she turned into an egg to protect herself... to protect me I think. The Professor said if she hadn't we'd both be very sick. So very sick we'd be asleep until we mended. I think... I think Adara is trying to become stronger so she can help people better. She's trying to become stronger with me too. But... I just don't know. I think Adara wants to be a real pokemon. But Daemons can't do that. Still, I love her and I'll watch over her until she's ready."
Terra started carving up the pie- Annorith was already watching it most attentively. "Would you like a juice as well?" No one ever refused a Windfall Pie. Though they might skip over their juice.
The abra tilted her head as she watched Terra setting out a blanket and food. Was this a, what was it called, a picnic? She'd seen these before, but never up so close. Humans tended to do these in groups when she had seen them and she had never quite felt brave enough to interrupt. She was after all only a small pokemon, and she did not think of herself as being partcularly strong.
Her hands and eyes glowed softly red as she took the items Terra handed her, using her psychic powers to steady the implements as she examined them. Once again they were fascinating to her. This abra's lack of contact with humans and her own naturally curious personality had left her insatiable for knowledge about the strange non-pokemon beings which shared her world.
~Oh, that smells wonderful~ The abra watched with wide eyes as the pie was unveiled. ~Juice?~ The abra lifted her eyes from the pie she had been watching to look at Terra ~As in berry juice?~ The abra smiled ~Yes please~
"Oh yes. Mamma adds in some orange juice to the berry as well. Do you have to battle trainers often? It hurts... doesn't it? Do you have to go to the hospital often?" Terra's big eyes were ever so curious as she spoke. Earnest curiosity.
Annorith was quite excited and chatted animately. "Oh do you like berries? I never knew about berries before Terra. Berry grow on bushes but we never had a bush with pies on it at the Professors lab. Just flowers. But they didn't taste nearly as nice. I wonder if there are flower pie bushes on the farm too. That might make them taste better."
Terra wondered what Annorith was saying - Annorith was speaking so excitedly... Then she too lit up like an excited puppy! "Deirdre! Would you like to be called Deirdre Annorith? My english teacher told me chatty girls used to be called Deirdre and your very chatty."
Abra smiled indulgently at the excited and curious pair. They really were very interesting. And just by being near them she was learning more about the human world than she had in all her years before now. It was all so very interesting.
~I don't have to battle often~ Abra reassured Terra. ~I usually just teleport away when there's trouble. I can fight if I have to though. My granddaddy was a hitmonchan so I know how to fight. Some abra aren't so lucky~ Many abra only knew how to teleport until the day they reached the next stage in their evolution. This abra one of the few whose linage included other pokemon, pokemon who had passed other moves down into her genetic knowledge.
~I've never seen a pie bush~ She said to anorith. ~I'm not sure pies grown on bushes. But berries certainly do, and I like berries. I like Oran berries the best. There's nothing else that tastes quite like them.~ The abra paused as Terra piped up with an idea for a name for the anorith.~Deirdre is a pretty name~
"I get my own name now? Deirdre? Really? Do you have a name?" Deirdre looked up, lost between the pair. She didn't know what to say. "Deirdre..."
Terra took a happy smile to herself as she began pouring juice for all. "Your granddaddy was a Hitmonchan? Really? Pokemon can breed like that? Does that mean Ano.. Deirdre's grandfather could be a dinosaur pokemon?"
Terra took on a big look of wonder - almost overpouring Abra's juice. "Is that why there are so many pokemon types? I'm going to be a breeder one day. Oh! I mean today! I started today! But I don't have any pokemon yet. I mean I have Deirdre of course. But you need two pokemon to breed. And annoriths are very rare. I didn't know you could mix it up like that. I never thought I'd find another Annorith..." Terra was quite animate as she stroked Anorith's smooth back. Lots of curiosity and wonder sat in her eyes now.
Annorith piped up, all curious. "Does this mean I can have babies with other pokemon?" Her eyes scanned the pair, curious as well.
Terra looked up at Abra, unsure herself. "Can pokemon really marry anyone like that? Is that how you get new pokemon types?"
Abra tilted her head, looking at the girl. She wanted to be a pokemon breeder, but she didn't know how pokemon paired together? How strange. Was there not some kind of test for becoming a trainer? There must not be if Terra could become a breeder without knowing such things. Though abra supposed she might be getting the definition of breeder wrong. Maybe breeders actually did something else and Terra just wanted to know this kind of stuff because she wanted to have a big pokemon family.
~Sometimes~ Abra answered. ~It depends on what kind of pokemon they are. Love doesn't care about species, but you can only have babies with certain other kinds of pokemon. Like how I have a grandaddy whose a hitmonchan, and Deirdre could maybe have a grandaddy whose a kabutops, but I couldn't have a grandaddy whose a kabutops, because Abra can't have babies with Kabutops... at least, I don't think we can~
Terra flushed with excitement as she listened! Pokemon were truly amazing. She'd even heard talked her way through the meal. "Really? That's amazing! Professor Pine never told me that! Professor Pine's been helping me with with Adara. He's the one who helped me decide to become a Pokemon Breeder. I don't really like fighting that much. I just want to help Pokemon become the best they can be. And Professor Pine said I can learn to help and heal sick pokemon too. So I can be just like Nurse Joy too! I've only been a Breeder for a few days though. I probably should of borrowed a book from Professor Pine before I left - but I got so excited over Ano- Deirdre that I just kinda left on my journey and went straight off for route one..." Terra flushed this time - wondering if perhaps she should of done a little more than pack up a big bag and wander off into the world...
Deirdre meanwhile, was quite happy with her own plans. "Oh yes! We left this morning! Professor Pine was really nice. He helped me get my very own trainer! I've always wanted to see what was outside his lab. And Mamma said if I was a very good girl the Professor would help me get my very own trainer! But of all the boys and girls that came to the labs, Terra was the nicest one. Terra smells really nice." Annorith lifted her eyestalks up to the Abra, giving her a clear view of her big grey eyes. "Would you like to come with us?"
Terra offered a shy smile to Abra. She was really surprised by Dierdre's forwardness! But Abra did seem really nice. She was a bit like the Professor's Noctowl. Plus she knew about berries! Mamma would like that.
Abra smiled, amused at the way the girl flushed as her ill-preparedness became obvious to her. Not because of the ill-prepared nature of her journey, but because the girl looked so young and adorable when she blushed. Abra wondered how old Terra was. She wasn't good at telling human ages and she didn't know how quickly humans matured.
The psi pokemon startled at the offer she was made. Go with them? It was not an offer she had ever been given before. But the thought of going with a human, being able to learn about their world and everything which had fascinated her for so long, that was one which filled her with joy. And she liked Terra and Deirdre. They were nice, and seemed like they could use some looking after.
~I... I think I would like that~ She said quietly, looking at the girl, the egg and the anorith with a bright smile.
Name:Choice Species: Abra Gender: Female Level: 5 Ability: Synchonize (Passes on status problems to the foe) Moves: Teleport, Ice Punch Personality: A very maternal pokemon, this abra finds nothing more fulfilling that looking out for others. She is very knowledgeable about a wide variety of subjects, and is infinitely fascinated by the world of humans and how everything works. She tends to have a very practical approach to life in general. Speech Code: FFE629 Through the long grass, a pair of bright eyes watched the group. The pokemon watched the trio, quartet if it included the egg which rested beside the girl. It wasn't sure what to make of this group. Perhaps it should get a little closer, see them all better.
A rustling noise accompanied the pokemon's movements as it tried to do just that.
Terra burst into a smile! "Really? Oh please do come! Mamma says travelling is much more fun with friends! Do you have a name?" Terra would of pounced Abra - but there was a picnic in the way. Instead she crawled about the picnic and wrapped herself about Abra in a small, soft hug.
Whilst Terra was distracted with Abra - enough that she actually forgot to eat her piece of pie! Terra never forgot to eat her pie - though she did forget to finish cooking them often... Anyway, Dierdre was caught by the sudden movement in the grass. Lifting her eyes up towards abra, she asked "Is that one of your friends over there? Are they hungry?"[/b]
Abra laughed quietly at Terra's excitement. ~No. I don't have a name~ She thought on the idea of a name for a short time before she said ~I like the sound of Adiyah~ She looked at Terra, dark eyes bright with pleasure ~What do you think?~
The pokemon within the bushes knew it had been spotted. Head held high, golden eyes bright with a cheery disposition, the little pokemon looked at the group. ~Hello~ The cielo grinned at the group, it's slightly purple tinted scales catching the light. An ice type on this route was unusual enough, but this cielo was special even beyond that, with it's purple tinted scales, rather than the usual icy blue tint, marking it as a shiny pokemon.
~I couldn't help listening in~ The abra snorted in response to the cielo's words, thinking that it perfectly well could have.
~Are any of you interested in a battle?~ This Cielo was a scrappy little thing, always up for a fight. It's scales were marked here and there with old scorings from previous battles, and there was an overall scruffy sort of look to it. This Cielo had been born into a human's care in a village nearby and sent out with a trainer who had not been an especially caring person. He had broken free of his pokeball and wandered off on his own, preferring to find his own way than stay with a human he disliked. Living wild had been quite the learning curve.
Deirdre looked up with curious eyes. She couldn't look away from the beautiful golden eyes & flaring purple scales as the Cielo escaped the darkness into the sunlight. Her voice was curious & very excited! "Oh, well I can battle! I've never battled before & I'd like to try. Are you very good? Would you like some pie first?" Annorith looked up at Terra, ever hopeful. "Can I battle? Please can I? I'd like to try."
Terra, who had been watching the Cielo with a fascinating grin, nodded. "Oh yes, we should practice shouldn't we. We might meet a mean pokemon one day and Professor Pine said we ought to practice.
"Did you here? We can battle! Oh but you will stay for pie afterwards? Terra's Mamma makes the best pie. So... how do we battle?"
Adiyah kept a quiet chuckle to herself. This was certainly going to be an interesting pair of friends.

Guest_Kaelyn: Alrighty. I hope you haven't forgotten me, Birdy. ^^() Ok. I'll keep that new url in mind. And I understand. The link you have there doesn't connect to anything. Perhaps you could send it to me via pm or something so that I can get it---

Birdybot: It's ready for RP but I'm still working on things before I want to start advertising
Jan 30, 2014 16:09:49 GMT -5
Birdybot: Hello! The promo will be up for a while longer
Jan 30, 2014 16:09:22 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: and how long will the X/Y promo be for? I would love to get one... as soon as I remember my password....
Jan 27, 2014 13:24:40 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Darn.. I'm going to have to remember my password....... But I'm still here... If that matters. ^^()
Jan 27, 2014 13:22:56 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Orr.... just a new skin and stuff? It looks great, though, guys.
Jan 27, 2014 13:18:28 GMT -5
Guest_Kaelyn: Ok... I googled Enera cause I was on my work computer and came up with this. 0.o Did the site move, Birdy? Also, I am so sorry for the long absence. I hope you'll forgive me? What's been happening?
Jan 27, 2014 13:17:44 GMT -5
Rin: Alright, I will then It'll probably take me a couple days.
Dec 29, 2013 22:30:39 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah, go ahead ^_^
Dec 29, 2013 5:25:01 GMT -5
Rin: Cool beans, I made an account there. Should I just transfer all my PC stuff and character data / route stuff over?
Dec 28, 2013 22:35:53 GMT -5
Birdybot: All right! I've worked on a few templates and planned everything out, so now I've created the new forum! enerarpg.proboards.com/
Dec 23, 2013 7:51:22 GMT -5
Rin: I do like the visiting towns idea - that way players could get to plot more easily and characters could meet up, which would be cool to see more of
Dec 23, 2013 3:02:40 GMT -5
Birdybot: I think to make it easier for characters to meet, any town can be visited at any time (by train etc), but the gyms will still have to be done in order. Also I was thinking of letting people buy apartments/houses in any town if they want
Dec 17, 2013 18:27:24 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah, characters would be transferred over. It's a big change, but I think big changes are needed to revive this site and moving is the cleanest way to do that
Dec 17, 2013 18:24:19 GMT -5
Rin: Whoa, that's a pretty big change Would we be allowed to carry over characters? I'd like to keep Ajax at his current progress if possible...I do agree about the fakedex thing though, that's pretty outdated at this point, and people can always resubmit.
Dec 17, 2013 17:34:15 GMT -5
Birdybot: Yeah anyway so over this weekend I'll get a new site set up with new everything and it'll maybe look OK but no promises
Dec 13, 2013 14:28:26 GMT -5
