Terra Windfall
I see pools of blue, rocks of grey too
I see grow and fade for me and you
And I think to myself:
"What a wonderful world!"
I see skies of blue and clouds of white
The bright blessed day, the dark sacred night
And I think to myself:
"What a wonderful world!"
The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces of people going by
I see friends shaking hands saying "How do you do."
They really say: "I love you!"
I see eggs shaking, I watch them grow
They'll learn much more than I'll ever know
And I think to myself:
"What a wonderful world!"
Yes, I think to myself:
"What a wonderful world!"

APPEARANCE
Terra was a short little girl, sitting at a little over five feet tall. She was very fit though and most often was seen wandering or running about. Terra had good long legs for her size, which actually made her seem a little smaller than she already was, though it really did help her running ability. Terra often worn simple clothing with a few stains from the outdoors. Her boots were always scuffed and the pant legs and skirt hems were always stained in some way unless they were short, though even then she often scraped them on rocks. Terra wears practical clothing styles - long clothing in the cold and short clothing in the warmer parts of the day. She isn't afraid of showing skin and is quite nicely tanned from always being outside. Though Terra dresses easily, she never intends to be anything but modest in her clothing. Though to tell the trust, she doesn’t really think about such matters when she dresses. Terra usually wears tank tops with a bra strap fallen over one shoulder. Terra’s body shape is a bit too disproportionate for bras to ever fit right, but it doesn’t really seem to ever bother her as she isn’t that well endowed to begin with. Often Terra often can be seen with a jumper or jacket tied about her waist to wear when it gets cold in the evening. Though right now she can always be seen carting about a purple suitcase that has a handle in its top and wheels in the bottom. Purple is Adara's favorite color - Adara is her Dæmon.
Getting past Terra’s clothing Terra herself has big intelligent green eyes and long wavy blonde hair that always seems to be a bit tangled towards the ends. When forced, Terra’s Mamma makes her brush it for almost an hour just to untangle the mess it normally resides in, though she only makes Terra do it for special occasions. Terra has a lovely face that resembles her Mamma a great deal, though her eyes lack the blueness of her Mamma’s. Terra can never hope to look much older than a teenager, but she is a cute kid with bright vibrant eyes that show her intelligence. She can adopt a most insightful look when she talks and seems to hold more wisdom than her years might suggest.
On special Occasions, Terra turns out in grand style with brushed hair that falls in gentle waves down her back, ribbons ties to each side, heels that make her feel almost silly – though she refuses to let anyone know just how awkward - she feels in them – and a gentle mix of jewelry. Usually earrings of tear drop gemstones or some of her favorite Pokémon dangle from each ear and she might add a small modest necklace, perhaps borrowing some of her mother’s bracelets. Though Terra does enjoy her dress, it is a long hemmed dress made of light purple velvet without any sleeves. That aspect leaves her tanned skin standing out amongst the crowd. Its cut is not terribly complicated, seemingly made from two pieces of velvet crossing over waist with a little exposure above her breasts to leave Terra feeling womanly. The hem of the dress moves easily and often lifts when she dances, running up to her calves or so in her more enthusiastic moments.
Terra’s favorite earrings to wear, whatever the occasion are her Pokémon earrings. Each set has little hoops with a Pokémon dangling beneath. She has ghastlys and geodudes and a set of vuplix's with little gems in each tail. There is even an Onix sitting as a little S on one set.
PERSONALITY
Terra has always been a dutiful little girl. She has also always been stubborn, Demonstrating a willfulness that allowed her to kick other children when they were mean and never seemed to give her any thought to not doing what she felt was the most right thing to do. Of course, she always listened to her Mamma, because her Mamma was always right and always knew best. Terra never really had to hide anything from her Mamma. She was quite happy to say how she felt and always came to her Mamma when she was in trouble. Though when she started to learn to cook, she did make a lot of fuss every time she burnt the pies – Terra honestly felt bad for burning their pies, because they were also her Mamma’s and Mamma’s pies were the best.
Terra always did her farm work and chores quickly, learning to do as her mother does, though with youthful haste that lead her to yearn for running about the fields and climbing atop the rocky spires that litter the edges of the farm property. Terra did her best to do things right, but she learnt to just keep working until everything was done, so she could then have a break by running off to play. Terra never seemed to really run out of steam, though quite often she would run off to climb atop a rock and watch the world pass by. She would draw and write in her diary up atop those rocky outcrops, completely content with her life.
Terra is quite an intelligent girl, though she was schooled through correspondence courses and a local little school that handled a lot of farm children like Terra that couldn’t always attend school when they were needed to help at home. However she was very inquisitive, making up for any lack of forwardness in her personality by a willingness to ask a lot of well thought out questions. And quite often the farm hands found themselves having to explain concepts a little girl shouldn’t be hearing – for it was quite difficult to spot Terra’s small form amongst the rows of berries. However, Terra doesn’t suffer from an urge to talk just to fill in the void. She is quite content to settle with the view of the world and her own thoughts.
That singular contentment caused Terra’s Mamma some concerns about Terra not being exposed to enough social situations, so Terra’s Mamma sent Terra to a school closer to town, where there were a lot more children for Terra to meet. Terra met these children, though there was discernable change in her personality or how she tackled the social structure of her altered situation. Terra was content.
However this change did bring about one rather interesting change in Terra’s life. She was discovered to be a natural athlete, competing in various events to a great level of skill, though it was in the long running that Terra proved herself to be capable of winning medals amongst the various school events. And this did make her Mamma so very proud. Terra even started to win a little bit of money here and there, though hardly a fortune; it was enough to let her enjoy a lot more than her allowance might.
Terra’s someone who can never be quite sure if she will be very patient or simply work hard to clear away all the problems, but she can always be relied upon to know when to stop, open up a little picnic box in some idyllic locale and settle down to relax for a while, just enjoying the world. Though she has a favorite place of sitting atop the school buildings and rock piles back home. There’s something about being atop the natural world, taking in the view from all around.
Terra rarely gets sick, having a very enduring constitution, though as strong as she might be, she is still small and often needs help moving the heavier implements about the farm.
Terra is very naive and innocent in most ways and is quite easily blushed over certain things. When it comes to dating, she has not really considered it much nor has any particular preferences, though her new school friends did make her modest enough to start buying swimsuits for when she went swimming in the river near the farm. If Terra ever really liked someone, she is fairly certain she can make this known to them, being a willful child, but as yet, she has not tested this theory so it’s left unproved. It is known however that compliments can make her blush very easily and shy her up somewhat.
HISTORY
Terra was raised on a Windfall farm outside of town. Windfall farm was edged by a river that turned into a rather large waterfall. Well, to Terra it was rather large. In truth it was a bit taller than their barn – perhaps 25ft or 30ft tall. Beneath the waterfall was a large pool of water that had been split in two but a wall of rocks and boulders. On one side the river raged onwards, on the other were a series of little pools edging a lovely pond of clear water without any current to drag you away. Some Pokémon trainers had built the wall so they could train their Pokémon and enjoy the waters without the sometimes violent pull of the river. Several varieties of water lived in the river and pool and the rock face about the waterfall houses a number of rock types as well, including Onixs and Geodudes. This was Terra’s favorite place to play as it had lots of places to rest atop the rocks and a lot of little pools to play in. The Pokémon in the area were quite friendly to Terra and didn’t mind her presence. Though when strangers came to visit or camp on the shore the Pokémon would more often than not hide. Once an Onix walked right over the top of Terra as she lay down having a nap. Terra was nestled between some rocks on a little blanket and pillow. She awoke to see its big magnificent form glide over her rocks and snake away up the river length.
Windfall farm wasn't very rich, but they grew a lot of fruits in their gardens and big crops of berries of all varieties in the different seasons. The berries were often raided by local Pokémon and so when they began to ripen, the farm would hire half a dozen trainers to monitor its fields and shoo off any wild Pokémon. Though the politer Pokémon that stayed out of the fields were often treated to some samples at one of the fences near the house. They had to be careful about the trainers they hired - a lot of Pokémon could accidently hurt the crops with flames and such. Terra's mother kept a pair of squirtles in a pond out the back. They were wild, but they were happy to work for her pies any time – usually employed to put out fires and help water new plants.
Terra herself was too small to do a lot about the farm. But she did lots of chores including sweeping and laundry. Of course she always helped when it came to picking the crops and she was quite good at it. Her Dæmon Adara would help out too where she could. Though her favorite thing to do was to ride atop Jonathan’s Onix. Jonathan was in charge of plowing the new fields and his Onix would burrow through the earth, loosening it all up, then it or another Pokémon would drag a plough through the loose earth. Whenever his Onix was about, Terra managed to contrive to find a reason to ride atop it and catch a lift across the fields, enjoying the high vantage point and wind in her hair. Jonathan and her Mamma never minded too much. Her Mamma figured one day Terra might have an Onix of her own, the farm being perfect for such large types with all its caves and rivers and fields and work to be had.
Terra often got distracted atop her rocky hideaways and sometimes stayed out too late, losing track of the time. Though her Mamma never worried too much about this however. It was never too hard to find someone or a Pokémon willing to go look for Terra. Especially when there was a slice of berry pie on offer. Though it wouldn’t be the first time a batch of pies got burnt when no one was about the house to check on them. Terra always gets really embarrassed when she forgot to go back and check on them. But her Mamma was just glad she was such a happy child.
Terra spent a lot of meals with the farmhands, enjoying their stories immensely and telling them about the little things in her day. Terra could make the most trivial of matters come to life when she told her stories with that wonderful smile – her Mamma’s smile Jonathan always said. Jonathan although only a farmhand, he was the closest Terra ever had to a brother. He would look out for her and give her small gifts on occasion. And he had a big Onix to play with, so they were destined to be good friends. Jonathan would give her some advice at times, though he was as practical as he was obtuse in his advice.
In school, Terra took several subjects. She excelled in Geography and Home Economics, though whilst she understood mathematics, it bored her. Physics and chemistry also seemed unimportant, though she did learn a lot about what makes up compost for the plants. Of course she passed her grades and with her running ability, the school was happy to overlook any long absences when she was to help out at home. They made allowances to have her tests sent home on occasion and everyone seemed quite happy in the end with her scholastic ability. Though Terra’s English teacher always seemed to want to give her more homework, for Mrs. Sutherland was always saying Terra wrote like a girl several years her younger. In the end, they settled on Terra writing a daily diary that would be her extra credit at the end of the year. So Terra began to write about it all.
TERRA'S DIARY
August,SUNDAY. 8.2010
Sunday was two days ago. It was a very long day Mamma tells me, but I only remember some of it. I remember in the morning Mamma wouldn’t let me do my chores. She insisted I take the day off. Though I didn’t want Mamma to be too overworked so I still did the washing for her when she thought I was in my room upstairs. Mamma chased me out of the house after breakfast, just to make sure I didn’t do any other chores. I have exams next week and Mamma’s worried I’ll be too busy studying to relax so she insisted I played today. I didn’t really mind but I didn’t think it was fair on Mamma. But Mamma is always right. So I went down to the fields to visit Jonathan.
Jonathan was plowing the fields again. Jonathan used an Onix to plow the earth, then he would sow the seeds and then he used a Glaceon to freeze all the seeds into the ground. The seeds we plant only grow in places where it goes very cold, then becomes very warm. So Mamma worked out this trick with Ice beam to freeze the ground solid and let it melt over the day, causing all the seeds to sprout. It’s very hard to do says Mamma and she’s very glad to have Jonathan to help out. Though Jonathan’s Onix & Glaceon don’t get along all that well. His Glaceon often accidently freezes the Onix’s tail and then they start to fight. Though Mamma hits the roof if they ever fight in the fields. Once Mamma made them scrub all the walls of the house as punishment for breaking one of the barns. Mamma can be really scary at times when she wants to be. She even made Jonathan join them for a while, saying he had to control them. Jonathan looked so heart broken when he discovered he was being punished too. Sometimes I think Jonathan is really just a little boy in a big body. He can be very cute.
Jonathan’s Onix was getting ready to plough, so Adara and I hoped atop and took a ride to the other side of the field. Jonathan’s Onix was fast! I do love remembering all the wind flying past. I could see all the way down to the river on top of Onix. And that’s where we went. To the river. I wanted to play in the pools and Adara turned into a magikarp to join all the other ones in there. We splashed about for an hour I think, before I heard it.
There was a really big noise in the air –coming from the water fall. I wasn’t far away so I ran to get my clothes, changing as I ran. Not that it mattered. There wasn’t anyone about today. The noise came from a big Onix beating against one wall. It was hurt badly, cracked all over with big spines sticking out of its wounds. I think it had been fighting a Cloister. The Onix was hurt so very badly and it tried to thrash at me when I ran near. I wasn’t frightened though. I hadn’t really thought it could hurt me. I just stopped and told it in my Mamma best commanding voice to “Now stop this nonsense and stay absolutely still. I am going to pull out those spines one at a time and it is going to hurt and you will not complain.” Mamma had said that once to the boys who tried to sneak through the bramble bushes and got thorns everywhere. Mamma would have been proud I think. The Onix listened though and settled down. Though when I started to pull at Cloisters spines, it moaned and thrashed a little. It was only a little, but that’s a lot when you’re hanging on to the spines! Still I managed to get a few out.
Adara had gone looking for help, but no one was near. I think Adara was asking the Pokémon to fetch help, but we were a bit far from the farm to find any that would do so easily. When Adara was coming back, I heard a boy shout “Charmander, go!” I looked up from the spine I was tugging at to see a Charmander running this way with a big gout of flame coming in my direction. I don’t really remember how it happened, but suddenly Adara was there, a big Onix standing in front of us. And burning. I remember all the burning. I think I screamed then. Mamma told me later that Jonathan’s Onix had brought him to the noise and had gotten there then, to see Adara try and attack the charmander. Adara missed and ended up sailing straight into the boy, the charmander’s trainer. I passed out then and fell into the river. Adara passed out too, not being used to ever fighting and having knocked the trainer into a large rock that Mamma said probably hurt us as much as it did the boy.
I had fallen into the river, not the rock pools, so I got swept along the bottom instantly. Jonathan told me that the Onix I helped dived in after me and saved me. Then Jonathan coughed and looked all funny and said I had drowned and he had to use to CPR and apologized. I asked the Doctor what CPR was and she told me. Apparently Jonathan was my first ever kiss, but I was asleep and drowned so I don’t remember it. Mamma says I died in the water for a little bit, but the Doctor says I was very lucky and came out okay.
Mamma cried so much when I awoke at the hospital. Mamma kept crying all night long and holding me close. I was very sore, but I didn’t want to worry Mamma so I told her I was ok and hugged her as much as I could. When I woke up, I began to cry too. Not from the pain though. I felt sad and lonely. Even having Mamma there couldn’t make that feeling go away. Though when Mamma started to tell me about the Onix going to the Poke Center, I knew what was wrong.
“Mamma, where’s Adara? Is Adara ok? Is Adara outside?” I asked the words, but I already knew. Adara was …wrong. Adara wasn’t there. Mamma looked at me and began to cry again. But she pointed to the corner of the room. There, on a table, was a big egg. “That’s your Adara dear. After it fought and you passed out, Adara turned into an egg.” I looked at Mamma dumbfounded, but I ran to my Adara and held her close. Egg or not, I knew my Adara was inside. I began to cry again. I couldn’t hear Adara anymore.
August,MONDAY. 9.2010
Today a man came to visit me at the hospital. He says he’s a Professor and researches all about Dæmons and Pokémon. He talked to Mamma for a long time, Mamma looking very worried. But he said he would pay for all the hospital bills and help me and Adara as best he could. He brought in all sorts of machines to my room and took lots of tests and pictures of Adara. He seemed to decide that Adara was growing inside the egg. I didn’t know what that meant, nor did he. But he seemed to think that Adara, whatever was going on inside that egg, what ok. He had a theory that Adara’s form was going to settle soon – and well, hatch? He said he’d come back each day and know soon enough. And that he would bring back some special medicines that they give sick Pokémon. He said they wouldn’t do me any harm and might help Adara. I have to get needles, big needles every morning now. And rub a special cream into Adara’s egg every night and keep her very warm.
Mamma was very worried, but I think the man seemed to calm her down. No one at the hospital knows anything about Adara or what to do, so Mamma was just happy to have someone there to help. Mamma said tomorrow we could go visit the Poke Center, after the man was done and only if I was up to it and the Doctor said ok. I think Mamma wanted me to get outside for a bit and the Poke Center wasn’t far away.
August,TUESDAY. 10.2010
Today the man came back. He said it was great news and that Adara was definitely growing. He seems to think that whatever has happened, Adara is acting like an egg. Which he supposed is a Poke form so possible, if rare. And that Adara should hatch soon, though it might be a week or two. He said that I wasn’t reacting to the medicine badly so we should continue it and hope for the best. And the regular Doctor said I could go for a visit to see the Onix. Mamma took me there herself. Mamma brought a big suitcase with some blankets inside to carry Adara until Adara hatched. Mamma even got a purple one, because its Adara’s favorite color.
At the Pokémon center, we met Nurse Jenny. Jenny was expecting us and took us through to the yard to see the Onix. She said he was healing nicely, though still a little weak from the ordeal. She also introduced us to the boy that Adara attacked. Apparently he was being made to work at the center to teach him not to take advantage of hurt Pokémon. Officer Joy insisted on it. He wasn’t very pleased to see me and left quickly. He had some big bruises on his face from where Adara had hit him. Later Nurse Jenny had a big strong talking to me about letting Adara attack and fight, especially people. I tried to explain, but she insisted. I don’t think Adara did anything wrong. Someone had to stop the boy, and Adara hadn’t meant to hit him. Adara had just meant to sweep the Charmander into the river to cool it off.
Outside the Onix came over when Jenny brought us out. The Onix looked much better, though it still had some cracks in its body. Jenny said it would need another week or two of rest yet. And she gave me some treats to feed him. The treats looked like little gems, but Onix seemed to gobble them up easily enough. I even got to play with Onix for a bit. He took me for a ride about the field and showed me his cave. Though after that, Mamma insisted I go back to the hospital to rest.
I am still very sad I don’t have Adara. I can just sort of feel Adara again, but it’s not the same. The Professor says it will all work itself out in some time. But I would have to talk to Adara lots and wait for Adara to hatch. And Adara should settle on one form when she does.
Before we left, I gave Nurse Jenny a kiss and a hug to thank her for looking after the Onix. I think I might like to become a Nurse like Jenny. But I don’t know. Maybe I should become a Ranger and stop people like that Boy?
August,WEDNESDAY. 11.2010
Today I saw the Professor again. He says everything looks good, but I am to go visit him twice a week for a while. Probably some months he says. He says there are a lot of things that can change in a young child’s body and with Adara like she is, he didn’t know if there might be some changes to me. He said I’d have to keep up my medicine and I would do tests at his lab every two weeks. But, he said he would help me prepare if I wanted to learn about becoming a Pokémon trainer or a professor or such. I don’t know what I want to become so I think this will help a lot. He even knows a lot of things like Nurse Joy so he can help me with that too. Mamma seems to think he might help me get a Pokémon of my own too. And it’s all free says the man, in return for the knowledge he’s learning from my tests. He is a very nice man.
I’m still worried about Adara, but I think I can feel her a bit more now. I think she will be ok. I trust in Adara. And Mamma does too. We love you Adara!

See the Picture.
PERSONALITY
Adara is playful and quiet, content. Adara doesn't explore as much as Terra, letting her wander off and do her own thing. They can move quite some distance apart - a bit more than normal, but that seems to fit their independent natures. Adara often sleeps outside away from Terra due to the larger forms being unable to enter the house. Adara tends to be easily distracted, being quite observant to the surroundings. Adara is just as stubborn, rash and selfless as Terra is however.
