Denka skidded to a stop as she realised her attack had missed, but at least it seemed that Barboach's had as well. The lion was panting already. This might be the fifth turn of the battle and she might not have taken too many hits, but she was feeling pretty bad from all the super effective moves and didn't know whether she'd be able to take another or not. Hopefully she would, but there was no way of knowing these things for certain, was there?

Sulteron could see how tired the Luxio was becoming, and it worried her. She needed to think up some better strategies, but how? She needed a little more time to think them up, and who knew what could happen in just a few seconds? Bite was an obvious choice, but Barboach now stood a chance of dodging and Denka's aim was off. Plus the little fish could use a close-range attack. Unless perhaps Denka moved away quickly. "Denka, leap as high as you can an use Bite! Then jump back with your hind legs to throw Barboach through the air!" she called.

The shiny nodded, taking aim far more carefully and double-checking this time. When she made her leap, it looked pretty accurate this time, plus gravity was making her reach Barboach fast. The idea of this attack was that she would get a good grip on him with her sharp teeth, then leap backwards and throw him high into the air while she herself landed neatly on her feet. This was the plan, but things could always go wrong.

Barboach’s whiskers twitched smugly, a confident expression on his fishy face. Drifting backward, he let his thoughts drift on how he would berate the trainer for being so idiotic for choosing a grossly disadvantaged Pokemon, using Amnesia to boost his Sp. Defence a little while he waited for the Luxio’s retaliation attack. (Not that this would do anything, of course, since none of Denka’s special attacks would actually do any damage to him anyway).

Suddenly the trainer issued a series of fast-paced commands, and the golden-furred Denka had leapt high into the air. Her shadow fell over him and he panicked, using Mud Slap as quickly as possible to try to hide his position. Whether the attack had hit Denka or not, her landing was perfect and she snared Barboarch in her jaws, flinging him away. Writhing as he flew through the air, the mud-fish Pokemon thrashed angrily as he landed with a poof in the dirt. It had been a smart and strong attack, one that Barboach himself would never be able to anticipate. Now he was really beginning to feel the effects of the attacks—he wasn’t panting nearly as hard as Denka, but he was visibly more tired than before, his feelers drooping a little as he faced the Luxio.

Sulteron beamed as Denka stood proudly before the Barboach, panting heavily still. The Mud-Slap had hit her, and it was definate that another attack would knock her out. She was desperate to win, but sometimes that wasn't enough- even Sulteron wasn't feeling incredibly optemistic about that. Still, she didn't mind if she did end up loosing, did she? After all, you could learn a lot from your mistakes. The girl smiled as she considered what to do next. She could think of a few things, but most involved risks which could very well make the lion faint. Maybe she could take advantage of the fact that Barboach was floating a little in the air? "Denka, use Iron Tail to knock it down again!" she called.

Denka leapt up high again, knowing that this way it would be harder for Barboach to hit her since he would have to judge her height as well as her speed and distance and all that. It also gave her more power for her attack. She drew her tail back, the limb glinting silver as it prepared for the not very effective but still quite powerful attack. She spun as fast as she could as she performed the move, this way making the Iron Tail be even faster and so hopefully knocking Barboach to the ground even harder. The lion was aware that Barboach might attack her at any moment, so she braced herself for anything, making sure she wasn't caught off guard.

The Barboach gave a spiteful little hiss when he saw Denka’s proud expression. How could she still look like that even though he was planning on winning soon? His whiskers thrashed angrily and he backed up a little, wondering what would happen next. He had seen she had gotten hit with the Mud Slap, which was good—but he was feeling pretty tired, too. Even if he might win, he was still a little frightened to admit a Pokemon with a gross type disadvantage had taken so much out of him. There was no doubt she'd have won if they were on equal standing. ~That’s what a Trainer’s Pokemon is like,~ he thought to himself before her heard Sulteron speaking again and Denka flying into the air.

Quickly he dashed forward, trying to get away from the powerful Iron Tail. It was the earlier Mud Slaps that saved him—he was a fairly slow Pokemon, but while the attack had been a good idea, her aim was off due to the low accuracy, and the midair spin only aided to that. Her glittering tail smashed into the ground and brought up a cloud of sand. Desperately Barboach fired a Mud Bomb into the billowing vortex of dust, but it was really quite hard to see if he had hit and he could have easily missed, as the sand effectively shielded the shiny Luxio from view. After he attacked he stretched forward eagerly to see if his foe would be fainted or on her feet and ready.

It seemed that in this Denka had been unlucky. At first the lion simply snarled her annoyance at the Iron Tail missing, then she found a Mud Bomb coming at her through the sand cloud. The Electric type tried to dodge, but although the attack was inaccurate, the sand made it hard to see and the glob of mud exploded on her paws, making her front buckle as she collapsed. The Luxio fell to the ground, fainting. Jizu's eyes widened, wondering how Sulteron would take to the loss.

The girl smiled, shrugging it off. You couldn't win every time, she supposed. She didn't mind. She returned Denka to her Pokéball, nodding her respect to Barboach. "Congratulations, Barboach. I know I lost, but Denka and I have both learned a lot. Thank you for that! It was really exciting, too!" she beamed, before walking off.

A little further on, she decided to let Segonami out of her Pokéball. The Suicune's eyes gleamed at the sight of the waves, and bent down. ~Sulteron, climb on. I'll carry you to the next route the fun way!~

[/color] she beamed, her trainer obedietely clambering onto the great wolf's back, Tayeko rejecting his Pokéball, preferring to run alongside the Suicune. Sego then padded to the edge of the water and sprinted, picking up speed until her paws were running over the waves. Sulteron felt a rush of adrenalin, a smile unavoidable as she saw her Pokémon racing across the water, Tayeko splashing alongside them at the shore while they ran a little out to see. This was one of Suicune's special abilities, and the entire group were enjoying it- even Tayeko.

Jizu was a little nervous, but his human's excitement calmed him as she cried out loud in joy, Sego joining in with a delighted howl. He leapt into the water as a Gorebyys, leaping over his trainer a few times before perching himself on top of Sego's head as a little Azurill. This was definately the best way to travel so far, although of course running on water could only happen on water. The next route was fast approaching.
