/personality// This Sneasel was very young when Connor first took him in. He is still quite young, although now he is as strong as other Pokémon of his species. He is still quite immature, however, acting like a child because that's what he is. He is quite reliant on his trainer and enjoys riding on Connor's shoulder or in his arms. Although this reliance can be a little annoying at times, at least it means that he is going to grow up a very loyal Pokémon. He will fight for his trainer at all costs.

She is a fun-loving Pokémon although when it comes to battling, she's fierce and extremely protective over her trainer and everyone on his team. A little over-protective, in fact, and she can sometimes get a bit too worked up, at which point Connor or someone on his team will remind her to calm down. She is also a little shy, preferring to remain in the background unless someone is in danger.

/personality// Named after the Greek God of war, Ares lives up to his name. He is very strong and tough, a true Tsuasan. He seems to be the sort of Pokémon who hates all others, but is actually extremely loyal and caring for Connor, seeing himself as Connor's 'protector'. Not much more, however, although he does respect Connor because of his abilities. Ares is definately a sort of one-man band, and in double battles he tends to ignore his other teammate completely. His aim is to evolve into the strongest Garchomp ever. At first, he didn't care about anyone else, but now he is just a little bit more friendly towards his trainer and teammates.

Connor walked along the grass to the hidden area of the grounds, as usual. He was aware that people knew about him now, but the Boss still wanted him to remain out of sight. A few more Tsuasans were aware of him, as well as the group who had infiltrated, but no-one else. He was still a secret, sort of. Only now he realised that perhaps Tsuasa wasn't good after all... still, until he got out, he might as well level up his Pokémon as much as he could. His dæmon was walking gracefully alongside him, a gorgeous pure white Ninetails. He stroked her albino fur as he found his place to train, before unclipping the three Pokéballs at his belt. One, two, three. Ashri, Tamesis, Ares. Sneasel, Beavern, Gible. They were all only level five at the moment, so naturally he wanted to make them stronger. Vivime swished her tails, waiting for him to send out his Pokémon.
The boy did so, releasing the three before adjusting his hat and clipping the Pokéballs back onto his belt. He crouched down so to be at the same height as the Pokémon and smiled. "Now, we're going to be doing some training. That all right with you lot?" he asked them, recieving various levels of enthusiasm in response. Ashri reached forwards and clambered onto his shoulder, before the 'morph sighed and set the Sneasel down again. "No, Ashri. This is training. It's more serious than that. We need to work together to make you all as strong as you can possibly be. Let's just see where we are, first, all right? Ashri and Tamesis, show me a Scratch on a tree. Ares, do the same with a Tackle." Connor told his Pokémon in what he hoped was an authoritative voice.
Ashri looked a little disappointed that he wouldn't be getting a ride, but there was no harm in obeying, was there? He trusted his trainer. Connor seemed to know what he was doing, and at any rate the albino 'morph had experience to know things. The Sneasel flexed his claws, getting ready. He hadn't actually been in a battle yet, but there would come a time when he would. Thinking about it, he didn't think that Connor had ever fought in a Pokémon battle before. Well, this was good preparation, wasn't it? The Sneasel smiled, showing off his speed a bit as he raced for the tree, becoming a bit of a blur as he dashed forwards and leaped, claw pulled back behind him, before slicing fowards with as much force as the young Pokémon could muster. He left a pretty decent mark in the tree, which was understandable because Sneasels like himself had high attack stats.
Tamesis looked at the tree she was faced with. A Scratch, right? Nice and simple, then it'd all be done with. She sighed, not sure how this would exactly turn out. She'd have a go, at any rate. The Beavern put on her best determined face, before charging for the tree as fast as she could, which was pretty slow. She then reared onto her hind legs and jumped at speed, before lashing out with her claws as best as she could. She looked over to the young Sneasel's slash next to hers. It was much more impressive... as much as the Beavern wanted to protect her trainer, she just didn't think she was able to. She didn't think she would be very good at battling if that was the best she could do. Well, there were other things for her, weren't there? But she did want to be a good fighter more than a lot of other things, because that way she could defend her friends.
Ares grinned obnoxiously as the other two made their attempts. Ha. He could do so much better than the roly-poly Water type and the and the little kid put together. The Gible snarled at the tree, getting into the fighting spirit while bouncing on the spot, flexing his muscles. Right, here he went. Lowering his large head and eyes locking onto his target, the Dragon type began to run. He charged as strongly as he could, running powerfully before colliding with the tree and making the whole thing shake on impact. He bounced off, landing neatly on his feet before smirking smugly. There. He'd be the powerhouse of Connor's team, and he would become famous for it and all Pokémon would look up to him. At least, that was what would happen in his eyes, anyway.
Connor watched all this thoughtfully, in truth not really knowing what he would do now he had seen the moves. It was obvious that Ashri relied on speed for her attacks, stealthily moving towards his opponents before catching them out. This was good in that he would be more likely to land hits, but it could do with improvement- calculating the accuracy of your attack while moving that fast must be difficult. Tamesis needed serious improvement. Speed couldn't really be helped, but her attacks could do with a little technique to help and all that. Ares was very smug indeed, far too confident to be able to accept that he needed improvement and could lead to him slacking off and expecting to land a hit rather than really trying. So, they all needed improvement. "Righto then. Let's work together as a team and all that. The Scratches were good, as was the Tackle, but everthing needs improvement. Ashri, you need to think things through more, perhaps slow down a little so you can think about where you're going. Tamesis, you need to speed up and think of a way to use your weight to your advantage. Push your weight into your claws somehow. Ares, stop being so obnoxious, you might be strong but you won't always win and you need to keep that in mind. Now, I'll try not to give you too much instruction because I know that if you do things your own way you'll get a better feel for them." he informed his Pokémon.
Now, he felt like working on three major aspects of battling; attack, defense and speed. Since he was on the topic, why not start with attacking first? Right, strategy, power, accuracy and finding weaknesses were all important, weren't they? He could do this. "Get used to using your moves. Here, I'll set up these targets." he offered, hanging the standered red and White circles on various places. Ashri grinned happily, excited to finally be getting some action in. The Sneasel wasted no time it leaping up to a target he knew would be within his ability. He slashed forwards with a claw, using a Scratch and hitting it safely. He landed neatly back on the ground, smiling happily and proudly. Ares snorted, rolling his eyes. He could do that easily. In fact, better! The obnoxious Gible bit off more than he could chew as usual, trying to hit one of there higher up targets with a Tackle. Since it was so high, he failed, falling a few inches short of his target and crashing heavily on the ground.
Tamesis shook her head, disapproving of Ares' desperation to impress everyone and be the best. He should just try to do his best, not be competative and aim to have fun instead. She took aim on a reasonably low target, knowing a rotund Pokemon like herself wasn't exactly capable of jumping too high. She easily hit her target, and was surprised to find that the way she had run at it had meant that her full weight had hit it with a Scratch, making a loud bang and knocking it over. Ares glared at her. How come Ashri was lore accurate and Tamesis was more powerful? He'd show them! Except... He had learned something from this. He should know his Linus and stick to them, rather than doing something too much for him. This time he picked a target he knew he ould reach, and began charging it with another Tackle. He was rewarded with a satisfying bang.
"Good work so far, you three. Ashri, with your Scratch try to use your arm like a spring and don't be afraid to dig in. Tamesis, really throw your weight forwards. Ares, you need to work on your jumps and focus on keeping the power." Commor advised. Ashri pulled his arm back and swung it forward, trying to get the hang if the whole spring thing. He found it harder than he had first expected. There must be a knack to it. He tried tensing his muscles and locking his tendons. He then sprang his arm forwards again, finding that it had much more force to offer. Good, now to put it to the test. He ran for a target, arm pulled back, before releasing it on the target and scraping his claws across as he did so, gauging deep lines in the wood. Perfect! He tried his again with the same results, although he then leaped and lost some power. He tried again up high, throwing himself backwards with the force and staggering upon landing, but all the same managing to stand his ground.
Tamesis was trying at the same time. She looked at a paw dully for a moment, before she leaned forwards, putting more weight onto it. Yes, that was how to do it. But she needed that in a swipe! That could prove pretty difficult for her. The Beavern hurried forward, pushing her body weight into the front half of her body. She tumbled forwards, crashing into the target and failing to attack. Hmph. Not too early, then. She tried again, this time leaning forward as she lifted a clawed paw and flung herself with her paw at the target. There was the sound of groaning wood as her paw connected with it, making the Water type smile with satisfaction at the deep lines in the target. Good! She shuffled back hurriedly to try again, this time stumbling and loosing speed before her Scratch. Hm. She needed better timing. Practice makes perfect! The Beavern tried again and again, eventually ended up with a rather sorry looking target. Phew. That was tiring!
Ares sniffed proudly as he saw his teammate's attempts at attacking. Ha. He could do better than them both put together! Completely ignoring his trainer's suggestion, the obnoxious Gible dashed straight for the target, missing it completely. Huh? Oh, must just be the wind. He tried again, this time hitting it, but to his surprise it wasn't very strong. What?! How could that be?! He snarled, growing angry now as he considered Connor's words. Maybe the albino was right. Urgh, he didn't like listening to other people, but he supposed it had to be done. He focused, feeling every muscle flex and pull as his body worked to attack. With a dull clunk, he hit the target. Looking at it with a smile on his face, he could tell from the crack in it that it had been a good shot. So maybe Connor could be right sometimes? That was a strange thought, but it might just be true. The Dragon type wanted to make sure, so attacked again and again. As pleased as he was that he was now accurate and powerful, he was a little annoyed that Connor had been right.
"Keep at those Scratch and Tackles, Tamesis and Ares! Ashri, practice your egg move, Ice Shard!" Connor called, feeling the three were performing quite well. They seemed to be getting the hang of things, anyway. Ashri looked at one clawed paw, frowning and concentrating. A few shards of ice froze on it, so he tried harder. The Ice type managed to make even more sharp frozen matter, then with a swift motion experimentally threw them at a target. The few shards in his paw made contact, loging themselves in the wood. The Sneasel smiled, pleased with himself. This move was probably a useful one, he thought as he spent longer making a larger shard to throw, this one making a decent dent in the target. It wasn't a strong move, but it was pretty decent, in his opinion. He thought he rather liked it. Smiling, Ashri formed more and more Ice until he felt fairly confident in forming a larger Ice Shard and throwing it accurately at a target, a nice long-range move to go with his Scratching.
Tamesis couldn't help but be a little jealous of her teammate's egg move, but it wasn't her fault she didn't have one so she assured herself that there was absolutely no need to worry. The Beavern tested her Scratch with her left paw, since that seemed to be the one both Connor and Ashri preferred to use, but found it was actually easier to attack with her right. She practiced a few slashes with her left anyway, just in case she was ever needed to attack with that paw. She then lunged forwards as if she was tackling someone, making her claw the centre of impact. Connor's reasoning behind her doing this was that when a pressure on a large surface area like Ashri was focused down to a small surface area like her claws, the force became greater and so the attack would be more painful. This seemed to be working, if the deep gauges in the targets were anything to go by.
As usual, Ares was thinking he could better his fellow team members. The Gible smirked, trying half-heartedly not to overestimate himself since Connor had been right the last time, to his annoyance. He took a more careful aim, took a few steps back and pushed off as hard as he could, building up decent momentum before he crashed into the target with a heavy thunk. He smiled a toothy grin, happy his attacks were getting better and stronger. This time he went for a running jump, pushing off with his powerful legs to collide with his target and landing relatively neatly while the wood swung above him. Good, he was making improvement. Maybe this trainer wasn't so bad after all, although that didn't mean he wouldn't watch out for him. The Gible tried again and again, testing the changes in power shoulder on, head on and side on. He found various ways to improve his aim like lining up the target with something else and the like.
Watching his Pokémon, Connor nodded to himself. Vivime flicked a white tail, her human's red eyes focused completely on his Pokémon. That was good to see. The boy was smiling, too, something his dæmon always did want to see more often. He planned on improving their defensive moves now. "Ashri, use a Leer and really stare, draw yourself up to make yourself taller too. Tamesis, Tail Whip and make it quick as possible. Ares, use a Sand-Attack but remember where your opponent's face will be as well as how much dirt should be needed. Keep in mind some might get blown away or change direction because of the wind." he instructed his Pokémon, growing in confidence as a trainer.
A Leer? That lowered his opponent's defense stat, right? Cool! Ashri was young and so not exactly the tallest Sneasel in the world, so drawing himself up to his full height was probably barely the average Sneasel height. He let his arms move out from his body, too, to make himself seem larger. A snarl appeared on his face as his eyes narrowed and glowed slightly, glaring viciously at his imaginary opponent. He did actually seem surprisingly scary, but it could definately use some improvement. He'd never reach the full potential of the move until he got older, of course, but until then he could still try. His eyes gleamed as he enjoyed the attack more, the cross between a growl and a roar which left his lips making the nearby Tamesis jump. His snarl looked more like a sneer when he smiled at this, flexing his muscles and generally trying to look intimidating. When he was done, he relaxed, shaking his head. Phew. That had been fun and all, but he reckoned it was a move someone like Ares would be better at.
Tamesis looked at her large, flat tail curiously. She wiggled it. So, that would lower her opponent's defense stat, would it? That was pretty nifty, she supposed. She waved her tail, the Beavern feeling this move used with ease since her species were known for their abilities with their tails. She watched it as it waved from side to side, before swishing it through the air in a whipping motion. She giggled, since it made a funny whoosh sound. She thrashed her tail around, making as much noise as she could. She only stopped when she heard Ashri's growling, which snapped her to her senses and made her jump. She let out a small whimpering sound, turning back to focus with improving her Tail Whip. She stared intently at a random spot, practicing her attack at it. She felt it went reasonably well. Unlike how Ashri felt, she thought this move suited her.
Ares gave a little at the prospect of using a Sand-Attack rather than his preferred ruthless, all-out style of attacking. Still, getting sand in your eyes stung a bit, and it'd probably help his targets keep still and all that when he was attacking them. It wouldn't hurt to try and show off a little, after all. Kicking up a little dirt, the Gible got the feel of the ground, imagining an opponent at a similar size to himself in front of him. He scooped up a load in his paws, then threw it slightly away from his intended target, thinking that the wind would do the rest. It did indeed, although the amount that was lost into the air made him think about using some heavier stuff. Then again, the ground couldn't changed, so he'd to make do. The Dragon lifted some more, making sure to get plenty of annoying little bits, before hurling them faster. Better, yes, but not perfect. He worked quicker next, scooping and thowing faster and faster until he could manage it in one smooth motion.
Connor nodded to his Pokémon, satisfied. "And now I think we'll finish off with a nice little agility/speed type thingy. Just a little sprint, since that's what you'll need most in battle. To the tree and back, that's all, but I'll throw little things at you so be on your guard. It'll be like trying to dodge an attack, hopefully, so watch out and be agile." he warned them, holding up a load of brightly coloured balls.
Ashri beamed at this, Sneasels like himself being reknown for their speed and agility. On his trainer's command, he set off at sprint, darting to the tree. It didn't take very long for him to reach his full speed, laughing out loud in delight at the feeling of the wind in his face and the tiredness in his limbs not mattering as he coped still. A ball headed his way, and he ducked, before narrowly missing one on his side. A low one nearly caught him out, but he jumped just in time before putting on a little more speed as the tree approached. Reaching it, a little dirt rose as he skidded, turned, and dashed back to where he trainer had been. Connor was alongside his Pokémon, so Ashri couldn't see him or where the balls where coming from. One bounced off his side, making him stumble in surprise, forcing himself to twist awkwardly to miss another before continuing. A few seconds later he stopped, panting, to watch the other two finish.
Tamesis was a rotund Pokémon, the sort who were not exactly built for running. She found it difficult as she forced her already tired limbs to push herself forwards closer to the tree. As she had expected, the Ho-oh 'morph wasn't being easier on her just because she was slower than she others. She found herself being pelted with balls all the same, almost tripping over one before being hit sharply on the back. Gritting her teeth in determination, she used her tail to guide her body into a swerve, smiling in pride as she actually managed to dodge one. Reaching the tree quite a bit after either of her teammates, the Beavern turned slowly and came running back, straining herself as hard as she could. She was almost there! Ducking a ball, she was caught yet again in the side before she deflected one, then another, with her tail. Finally she reached the other two, where she lay on the ground exhausted, panting heavily.
Ares meanwhile had assumed he would be amazing at this, since he was arrogant enough to think that sort of thing. He was very, very annoyed indeed to find Ashri shooting ahead therefore. On the other hand, he was ahead of Tamesis. Still, that little baby! How could he be beaten by that Sneasel! So determined to win, the Gible forgot about the balls until one hit him on the back. He growled, even more angry now as he ducked, moved to the right and kept running. He was feeling tired, but he ignored that fact. Reaching the tree, he stumbled a little as he turned but actually seemed to be pretty at the turn. Heading back, he still couldn't see where the balls were coming from. Glancing around himself constantly, by being on his guard meant that although he felt a silly skipping and dodging about like that. When he finished, he failed to disguise his panting.
Connor and Vivime faced the Pokémon, the boy sitting down next to them. Ashri sat in his lap happily, Tamesis trying to get her breath back while the Ninetales-dæmon became a Vulpix and lay next to her, between the Pokémon and her human. Ares looked at his trainer as toughly as he could. Connor smiled back at the Gible. "Well, you're all clearly tired out. Even you, Ares. That's good; it means you've been working properly and your best. I'm pleased with how you've improved and learned lots today, and I think I've learned plenty, too. I hope I can be a better trainer since I can now see your preferred way of battling, and that means we can work together better. You'll all be stronger and smarter after today, but for now what do you say to going back inside and lazing about with cups of tea, snacks and a few good TV shows?" he suggested, to smiles and agreement. This had been a good day, the albino decided as he walked back up to his quarters through his special hidden top-secret pathways with his dæmon talking to Ares, Ashri in his arms and Tamesis dozing on his shoulder.[/blockquote]
