Luke Ahti
Zero? Really? Right. That’s it. I’m not letting you name anyone anymore ~ Akira
GENERAL
Name: Luke Ahti
Age: 16
Gender: Male
Career: Tsuasa grunt
APPEARANCE
Luke isn’t exactly the most physically impressive of people. He’s short, only just topping 5 feet 5 inches in height, with a slender body shape. All in all, he’s built more like a lithe dancer than a heavily muscled weight lifter. However, while he’s not all that strong, he is fast and he’s got a good amount of stamina. His preferred method of exercise is to run and it shows in a set of muscles which, while not the most impressive, are fairly well defined.
His hair is mid-blond in colour, the shade a strong golden yellow. It’s got a messy layered cut, hanging at a length just long enough to brush Luke’s shoulders. Though it is long enough to tie back, Luke rarely does so, preferring to leave his hair loose. Only when it could be dangerous will he ever do anything to restrain it. Though he does brush his hair regularly, it never really looks like it, for Luke’s hair settles naturally into a rather messy state.
Baby blue eyes watch the world, framed by dark lashes. Their well set in a surprisingly delicate featured face. Luke’s complexion is excellent, he never has to worry about spots or oily patches, no matter what he does or doesn’t eat. There is one notable marring to his otherwise rather pretty looks. An almost wing shaped scar on his right cheek which runs from just above the jaw bone up to and slightly along his cheek bone. Luke's right ear is pierced and he wears a long dangling earring made with a piece of mareep fluff and a taillow feather.
In terms of clothing, Luke has a preference for earth tones. Browns, tans and blacks make up the majority of his clothing, most of which follow the same basically style of wide pants, long sleeved high collared shirt and a knee length hooded tunic, with slits up to the waist to allow for ease of movement. His feet are usually clad in a sturdy pair of black boots.
PERSONALITY
Luke is one of those people whose personality is difficult to pin down. He’s constantly shifting and changing to accommodate and imitate those around him. If he’s surrounded by optimists he’ll seem bright and happy and cheerful, surround him with pessimists and he’s as dull and unhappy as the rest of them. In short, Luke is a person who desperately desires to fit in and is willing to change his outward behaviour patterns to fit in with whatever group he’s currently with.
However there are some things which remain consistent no matter who Luke is around. One of these is his intelligence. Though he often hides it to try and fit in, Luke is highly intelligent, the kind of scary smart which had him on several rather interesting ‘to be watched’ lists at a young age. Where other people with this kind of intelligence go on to become Doctors and Physicists and Nobel Peace prize Winners, Luke’s smarts were turned to computer, both the physical side of building computers, and the more cerebral side of programing, and hacking. This often gives him troubles relating to other people and he can have a great deal of difficulty understanding why other people act the way they do.
Another thing of particular note about Luke is that he is incredibly naïve. He’s easily manipulated and has a tendency to take things at face value. Where other Tsuasa grunts joined because it gives them a chance to be a jerk, Luke joined because he genuinely believes that Team Tsuasa are trying to make a difference, to make the world a better place for everyone. He doesn’t always agree with the group’s methods, but he has a blind faith that the Bosses know what they’re doing and that there is a good reason behind every action.
Luke is fiercely loyal, to Akira, to his Pokemon and to Team Tsuasa. He’s never really formed attachments to anyone else, often being considered just that little bit too weird to really be worth the effort of making friends with, on top of his difficulties understanding people. Akira is his other half his soul in pokemon form, it would be inconceivable not to be loyal to her. He understands pokemon better then people for the most part and so pokemon are his best friends, his confidants. Team Tsuasa took him in and gave him a purpose, a sense of belonging to something greater than himself, which was something he’d never felt before being recruited.
HISTORY
Luke had a pretty good life as such things go. His parents weren’t rich, but they were reasonably wealthy, enough to live very comfortably, paying for everything they needed and much of what they wanted. They weren’t around much, their jobs being the highly intensive kind which, while making them a large amount of money, also made it difficult to spend time with their only child. Luke was rasied by a series on nannies. They changed every year, and so the only constant he had was an old Chansy his mother had caught many long years ago.
From a very young age, Luke was interested in computers. He wanted to know everything about them. How they were put together, how they came apart, what happened if he plugged this particular piece of hardware into that particular socket. He wanted to know how each and every program worked, was fascinated with how this particular bit of code made that particular bit of the computer do this or that and what would happen if he inserted this bit of code into that particular part of a program.
Like many young children he was also fascinated by pokemon. They weren’t logical like computers were, but they were equally as fascinating. So many different kinds of pokemon, all of whom had their own powers and abilities and evolutions. He could often be found reading the various informative packages sent out, reading up on the papers published by the pokemon proffessors of each region.
When he was ten, for his birthday, Luke hit upon the perfect present. He asked his parents for a Porygon. Thinking that having a pokemon friend would do their son some good, his parent agreed. Luke’s new friend, whom he names Zero, wasn’t the most active or personality laden of porygon, but Luke thought him perfect in every way. Aikra wasn’t amused by Luke’s choice of name for the artificial pokemon and forbade him from ever naming another pokemon.
Life continued to be good for Luke. With Zero’s help his skills increased exponentially. He took on bigger and bigger challenges, hacking his way into systems he’d never have dreamed off before meeting Zero. This brought him to the attention of Team Tsuasa. When a particularly ambitious attempt bypassed several of the major security features on one of Tsuasa’s databanks, a recruiter was dispatched to find Luke and Bring him into the group. After all, he knew at least some of their secrets now, they could eiterh have him join them, or lock him with. With the skill set he had, it would be of more benefit to everyone to get him to join them.
Luke really didn’t require that much persuasion. The recruiter sent was a pretty girl, he was a teenage boy and her passionate speeches about Tsuasa’s goals had Luke hanging onto every word. He signed up then and there, despite that he’d have to start out at the bottom as a grunt and work his way up to somewhere that his skills could truly be useful.
Several days later he set out for the place the Recruiter had said he would be properly inducted into the group. Zero was left behind the porygon guarding Luke’s master computer system. Luke took with him the only access point to the computer, a small pocket sized touchscreen tablet which he carried with him everywhere. Satellite connections, few of which were legal in any way, meant that no matter where he went he’d have access to the massive amount of computing power he’d built up over the years.
Akira
GENERAL
Name: Akira
Gender: Female
Form:Ditto
Age Settled: 14 years
Views on Form(s): If anything Luke’s a little, confused, by Akira’s settled form. After all when a young child sits and thinks on what their daemon will eventually become, few ever imagine a ditto for their settled form. Luke is still trying to work out what exactly this means about him, having his Daemon settle as a pokemon whose defining trait is that it’s a shapeshifter. He rather likes it despite the confusion.
APPEARANCE
For the most part Akira appears to be a perfectly normal pokemon. She’s a little larger than average for a ditto and somewhat paler then is normal, being slightly more pink in shade then the usual purple. Both these fact carry over when she uses her ditto ability to change her shape. No matter what form she takes she is always slightly larger than average and somewhat paler than usual. Unless there is a specific need Akira prefers to stay in her true form. She can’t move fast but that’s alright as she's usually to be found riding on Luke’s shoulder or his hat.
PERSONALITY
Like any daemon Akira is both a compliment and a foil to her human. Akira is very clearly the creative half of their pairing. She’s the one who comes up with names for those things which need them, like Luke’s programs and inventions and pokemon, having forbidden Luke from naming anything when they were ten. Like Luke she can be scary smart at times, her unique position as a settled shapeshifter often giving her insights others might not have. She’s a great deal more aware of the world then Luke is, understanding more about the nature of humans and pokemon. She sometimes affects a world weary attitude, as if she’s seen it all and isn’t impressed, in contrast to Luke’s naïve outlook on life.
